Support for gun control has hit its lowest rating since 2014 in a Gallup poll, with just 52 percent of Americans saying they support stricter gun control measures, according to the new survey.

Gallup said the decline was largely attributable to falling support from Republicans.

GOP support for more gun control fell by 14 percentage points to 22 percent, which is the lowest percentage on the question on record for Republicans, reports Gallup.

Gallup's new poll results show that 35 percent of American adults believe that current firearm laws should be kept as is and that 11 percent of Americans prefer less strict gun control measures.

Excellent news for those of us who support the 2nd Amendment

Great news.

Take those that commit crimes with guns off the streets, don’t let them repeatedly go through the revolving door of justice, and there will be much less gun violence.

Travis! Where you been at man? We've missed you. Your immeasurable knowledge and expertise on firearms was an inspiration to us all. Back again, with a brand new user name ready to share your vast reserve of technical acumen and experience with all us rooks that only have a few decades under our belts that way. Fire away man (pun intended)

Oh btw I did get that phase plasma array with electromagnetic sighting upgrade and pulse doppler device. Now that the military has started to make their new reactive armor defeating 5.56 mm explosive tipped 89grain ammunition available to us civilians it's BOY HOWDY time. Yep the NRA pulled that off for us. Can shoot plumb through a concrete filled reinforced cinder block wall now.

Keep up the good work man. So good to see ya.

I teach defensive pistol to civilians. My enrollment tripled in 2020 compared to previous years. Oh yeah, I live in Los Angeles of all places.

I don’t think it’s the NRA. The “summer of love” and “peaceful protests” from the left gave free advertisement for NRA.

Yes, even some Dems came to the realization that "Hey, I really ought to have a firearm" once they noted the threat from their own Left.

^^^^^^^^^^^ This.

The nationwide riots... coupled with the complete absence of police in most of them... convinced lots of people that when there's a threat, the ONLY thing they can rely upon was themselves. And that going armed was something you owed yourself, your loved ones, etc.

It reached a point where many could no longer deny this reality.

Gun laws only work for law abiding citizens not criminals.

Somebody asked him to back up some of his, umm, "weirder" assertions, and he immediately vanished from the forum.
