Some like Tucker Carlson, Marco Rubio, Josh Hawley want national conservatism: https://nationalconservatism.org/

There was a conference they attended in Florida: https://rapidcityjournal.com/news/na...2958017ca.html

They call for common-good capitalism with a focus on regulating free trade, supporting small and mid-sized business, reshoring labor, and bolstering traditional family units. They support lower taxes and deregulation but getting stricter on hedge funds, private universities, and drugs/vices.

Nikki Haley chastised this movement. https://www.washingtontimes.com/news...ho-should-kno/

She said they betray capitalism. Herself, Youngkin, Romney, McConnel, etc. are on the other side.

Conservatives here just support either or, but there is a friction that is forming in the party.
Trump hasn't vanishing and he continues to pull the strings on much of the party. One of the greatest loss's due to him is the loss of Freedom of Speech, party members who don't follow the herd are called out and ostracized. As for the rest of the "national conservatism" they can keep it, Christian Sharia law is not wanted and all those idealistic "common-good capitalism" are just sound bites.

If Rubio had any concern over the direction of the party he would be a more vocal member of the Senate and not just comment when it gives him good coverage. I respect Nicki Haley but Youngkin is a T-Party hack and McConnell will say whatever to keep himself in power...

He will not run again, IMO.
They will probably need his blessing on the candidate, though. He wields a ton of influence over his base and they want those voters to show up. The Trump brand on the GOP candidate will mobilize them; if it looks like the nomination was wrestled from Trump or he's publicly against it, those people may mobilize for another ticket or not at all.

Trump has somewhat vanishing from view,

The name Trump is in the title of 4 threads today — Like him or not

He is NOT “vanishing from view”.

Romney is an economic parasite. Google Mitt Romney and Worldwide Grinding. Yes I realize bust outs are legal, but putting a thousand people out of work and dumping their pensions so you can get a larger yacht is scummy.

Common good capitalism, if focused correctly to include working people, especially the trades and high value manufacturing, is potentially very potent.

The Republican party is headed in the direction of regaining control of the House in '22, then the Senate & Presidency in '24.

It won't be due to the Pubs great leaders, or ideas, it will be because most Americans will have had enough of the failed leftist radical experiment.

Independents & moderate Democrats will sit out these elections in large numbers, & some will even vote Pub, so they can purge the radical leftist socialists, who have taken over the Democrat party.

During this 3-year long Red wave, the economy will erode. By 2026*, interest on the debt, will make it impossible to fully fund entitlements. This will either lead to a Convention of States to right-size the Federal Gov't, or massive tax increases that will result in an exodus of affluent Americans.

* see the 3 charts in the link below that show risig interest rates, rising interest on the debt consuming other spending:

I agree.

Voters periodically change color because they get sick and tired of one set of ideological garbage and have no choice but to exchange it for another set of ideological garbage.

I partially agree ...

Both sets of colors annually vote themselves increases in electronic credits (some call it "debt") to spend on themselves, with a little that trickles down ... of ever decreasing quality ... Chinese crap.

Trump's just waiting while Joe Brandon beats himself up and makes more people hate him. Not a bad tactic but he still needs to keep in the public mind.

Somewhat vanished? Someone in coma would know Trump doesn't vanish. Shame he doesn't put as much faith in the Constitution as he does with branding.

I think they'll bad mouth the dems for increasing spending and debt. Get in power and do the exact same thing Trump did, increase spending and debt. The Progressives have been in charge of Congress for a long time.
People need to wake up and stop being dependent on government to run their lives from cradle to grave.

Real interest rates are negative. The government is basically being paid to borrow money. It’s a sweet deal for everyone who does not need to save money.
