He should be ousted in 2022. Even a Dem would be better. At least you know what you’re getting.
A female Republican, the state school superintendent decided to switch to Democrat to try to run against Gov. Stitt. In the primary, she will be running against a liberal Democrat and can likely beat her. Stitt, so far, has no well known Republican running against him.
Stitt has pissed off the Native American community and won't get many votes from them.
The commutation appears to have some bipartisan support, with 5 GOP politicians in favor of life, instead of death. In addition, not one, but two parole votes to commute. Also, reported evidence of cops, and jurors, saying (n)....., during the investigation and trial!
Wow, we really do live under a mob rule type of mentality. Truly scary stuff.
But lots of murderers in other states only get life in prison and sometimes less than that. I have nothing against life in prison for murder. Why be nice enough to spare the murderer from feeling any further punishment by executing him or her?

I'd love for you to ask this to all the loved ones of the victims across our country.
If he's sitting there praying over it after reading documents from both sides, I guess there could be some doubt. I'm not completely against the death penalty, (about 50/50 on it), but if there is any doubt, it should be held off to allow time to fully investigate.
I am in favor of the death penalty when there is NO doubt as to the person's guilty. (ZERO chance, not 99.99%) This does not seem to the situation here, so I am happy he is not being put to death -- and as there seems to be reasonable doubt as to his guilt, period, I think the case should be reviewed and that Jones should possibly even be set free.
This is freaking horse dung. What a coward. I remember when Arnold refused to stop the execution of Stanley Tookie Williams despite a huge public misinformation campaign from his fan base. That's doing it right.
The governor caved and had it both ways. Commuting him to life sentence, but not execution. And the lunatics will now campaign that he be released because he is 'innocent.'
Clearly the woke mob spooked him. I feel so incredibly sad for the surviving members of the victim. A campaign of misinformation and celebrity idiots automatically embraced the fabricated narrative that Julius was 'innocent.' I watched a clip of Viola Davis' documentary showing Jones and his family outright lying and making up a story about the dinner they had together the night of the shooting. Makes me want to vomit.
The race card, continuing to allow criminals to escape proper punishment.
