The provision approved by the House offers a sort of waiver to immigration laws, using a process known as parole to allow people to stay in the country for five years with the option to extend for another five years thereafter.
About 6.5 million people would stand to benefit from the measure directly, according to an analysis by the Congressional Budget Office (CBO).
So here we go again rewarding those who violated our immigration laws. When's the next rush to our border to get in on the next amnesty? Where are the enforcement measures in the bill and the continuation of building the wall as a deterrant not to have this happen again? How are Americans going to get their once good paying construction and other blue collared jobs back? How will the overcrowded conditions that these illegals have created be alleviated by this part of the bill? Why is any of this in an infrastructure bill anyway?
The article then goes on to state that in the bill about 3 million of those people would become eligible to springboard from the parole status to legal permanent residency, the first step toward citizenship.
God help us if the Senate passes this bill but I don't think that they will. At least I sure hope not!
Here's what I don't get either. Why is it being called reform unless from here on out we are going to allow any future illegal aliens to gain work permits, etc.? Why don't they call it what it is....amnesty? There is no reform as it means reforming our immigration laws and that isn't what this is about. Reform means changing! There is no change to our immigration laws it's simply rewarding those who have violated them.
If you believe it's ONLY 6.5 million then I have some oceanfront property in Montana to sell you.
Just this year alone we captured and released nearly 2 million illegals. This year was different in that they wanted to get apprehended so they could get hotel rooms, new clothes, medical attention, a bus ticket to anywhere and an envelope of cash.
I'd wager we have 20-30 million illegals living here.

The term isn't "illegals"-it's offensive. The accurate term is foreign criminals.
I said a month ago - there will be MANY caveats, hidden in that law hundreds of pages. That's why they are passed for. Shiny cherry with some noble name to it on the icing, dark secrets hidden inside the cake itself. Worry not, more will come.

And all they keep telling us is "it won't cost us a penny".
