If you lose to 106-0 to any team in competitive sports, you probably shouldn't have a team LOL
Seriously, the real outrage here should be directed at the coaching staff of the team that lost. What on Earth were they doing, or not doing, that put their team at such a disadvantage?
The coach may be punished for running up the score. Players are just following directions from the coach.
My opinion may not count... but, I would suggest the losing coach field a team that is competitive or give up the sport entirely. Maybe they could switch to synchronized swimming or something not as so trying.
It has always been considered bad sportsmanship to crush another team like this. Heck I remember being told when i was about 10 playing baseball in the last 70's by our coach to take it easy after we were easily beating another team. He simply told us how would we feel?And that was enough for us to leave them some pride and dignity.
That’s good sportsmanship and a good lesson for the players. Caring about the dignity of others is sadly in very short supply these days. All about me me me me me.
This has nothing to do with snowflakes and everything to do with good sportsmanship. It was likely apparent within minutes of the kickoff one team was far superior..
There was no need to humiliate the other team and run up the score like that.
Our high school put in all freshman in the 2nd half and still won by 60. What are they supposed to do?
Big difference between 60 and 106.
