Since the blm bs started a few years ago I have bought a new handgun and a 9MM carbine. I just ordered me a gun safe where I can keep them in. I made sure it was big enough in case I buy some more guns.
Being retired Army and civilian law enforcement, I’ve been teaching several family members on the safe handling of firearms and basic marksmanship skills.
If you’re new to firearms, I highly recommend taking an actual firearms class and go to the range, at least once or twice a year, if not more. IMHO, firearm ownership is a huge responsibility and something that shouldn’t be taken lightly.
Remember, you are still responsible for every bullet that leaves the barrel of your gun for both better and worse.
On a side note, shooting a gun isn’t like in the movies, so don’t learn firearms safety from Hollywood since they’re not even safe in a controlled environment…. Learn from a professional or a highly skilled person…. Please!!
Where I live at I get free access to a gun range about 5 miles away. This range also has gun classes and concealed carry classes. I was raised up with guns and I hunted for many years with them.
I’m a fan of a handgun, but a home defense tactical shotgun is somewhat compact and makes it near impossible to miss.
I have three handguns, one bolt action rifle (my old hunting rifle), a sawed off legal shotgun (this is loaded with 3" magnum buckshot) and the Hi-Point 9MM carbine.
I wholeheartedly support Americans lawfully arming themselves!!!!
Please learn how to use your gun. Go to the range, increase your proficiency. Learn trigger discipline until it is ingrained in your mind. Become one with your gun the way you do any other mechanical item that you own and use regularly.
Store your gun carefully. Very carefully.
Our Second Amendment right will only become more valuable as time marches us toward anarchy.
You have no idea at all of how many times per year firearms are used in self defense and deterring crimes.
Not a clue.
Neither do you. Indeed some people have stopped an armed robber with a gun but why do we have so many armed robbers? Take your time with that question.
