The article title is a bald faced lie. Nowhere does the Salvation Army ask ANY DONERS to DO anything whatsoever.
If you're at all interested in what the Salvation Army's position on racism, then you should read this.
The Salvation Army’s International Positional Statement https://s3.amazonaws.com/cache.salva...Racism+IPS.pdf
The word "white" and "black" are nowhere found in there. There is no call for apologies from anyone. There is no mention of the United States, America, nor systemic racism.
It says things like this:
"The Salvation Army firmly believes that racism is contrary to God’s intention for humankind, and yet we recognise that the tendency for racism is present in all people and all societies."
Do you think that is an attack on white donors? Do you doubt that it is true?
The Salvation Army did produce an INTERNAL study guide for Salvation Army people who wanted to learn more about racism for THEMSELVES. It is about racism for Salvationist to become more aware of the various aspects of racism, both modern and the ancient historical origins.
The very misleading article picks out fragments of sentences to twist the meaning of the study guide. Read the entire study guide for yourself, and you will see that you are being lied to.
Everyone has challenges in life, but most will not blame others for things that didn't happen to them. Take responsibility for yourself, get a job, and grow up. We have all heard the whining and don't buy that same old song and dance anymore.

The Salvation Army's International Positional Statement is a clearly worded, firm denunciation of racism in all its forms. The Study Guide is an internal document for interested Salvationists to address their own thoughts and feelings on the subject. Neither of these is the subject of this thread. What is being discussed is "Let's Talk About Racism," which is a separate document.

Where is the study guide?
They seem to have done a good job of vaporizing it.
I'm not looking to blame ANYONE. Like I said, no one is alive today on either side. Just making sure that you realize that your "tens of thousands" number, even if true (which, again, I know they are not), pale in comparison to the number of black deaths during the entirety of slavery and afterward.
The effects of past racism are STILL being felt to this day, however...and that still doesn't mean that my whole reasoning for commenting on this stuff (which was the fact that some entitled nitwit felt that the last 3 or 4 decades of "generous welfare" somehow makes up for 296 years of actual slavery, AND the extra 150 years of slave-like conditions) is irrelevant. Whites STILL reap the benefits of slavery to this very day. That's not YOUR fault, of course, and that's not implying that you PERSONALLY have benefited in some way from slavery...but let's not make it seem as though it's not a thing.
Instead of try to debate this with you b"typing" on my phone at work.
That article is accurate, asnd my sentiments are 100% on line with it.
We alive today (especially in the north) simply don't owe descendants of slaves a nickel more than we've already given them via welfare and social programs.
Exactly: Indeed, it does damage to one’s cause to push a false narrative that cannot stand up under scrutiny and calls in to question any other statements one makes as well as the agenda for making them.
If some people aren't happy in the greatest country in the world, they will not be happy any where. I don't recall a contract that guarantees them the happiness the rest of us earn through accomplishments and self fulfillment.

What a crock of BS.
When the Salvation Army prints a 19 page diatribe for their employees, it clearly shows their woke, racist stance.
Get real- I used to drop anywhere from $5-$20 in their pots every time I passed one- no more. I used to give $10K to the United Way every year as well, but stopped when they turned "woke".
Don't these racist, fascist idiots understand that we, the conservatives, are the ones who contribute most to charity?
I can envision exactly how this happened. Some woke minority on the board of directors advocated this insane stuff and every other board member was too frightened to oppose the insanity, even though they knew it was wrong.

Sounds about right.
I knew the SA COULDN'T be that dumb. But let them believe what they want. It doesn't take very much these days.

Easy to say "stop whining" when it ain't YOU, right?
Get a life.
