This mass vaccination against one protein, the very protein that accesses our cells and determines the ease of infectivity is producing these variants. This virus wants to survive.
The panic is not coming from health officials but from media outlets seeking to exploit it. Health officials are continuing to advise a wait for the science approach. Pfizer says they will have a read on whether vax's neutralize it in less than two weeks. If not, they can have a new vax in production in 100 days.
Biden has 10 million treatments with the new anti-virals lined up in the meantime and his team has shown great skill at managing a new rollout if that is needed. Imagine if the next virus is actually somewhat deadly. Now the Chinese and the Democrats know full well that half the population will be more than willing to relinquish their freedoms at the drop of a hat.
After all, they did it for a virus with a .20% mortality rate, and a hospitalization rate that - at its absolute worst - never exceeded 5%.
