Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey Steps Down, CTO Parag Agrawal Named As Replacement

Get Twitter, Inc. Report said Monday that co-founder Jack Dorsey will step down as CEO, with Parag Agrawal named as his replacement to lead the micro-blogging website.

Dorsey will remain on the board until at least 2022, the company said, with Bret Taylor becoming independent chairman. Agrawal, Twitter's current chief technology officer since 2017, will assume CEO duties immediately.

...
Dorsey, 36, co-founded Twitter in 2006 but was forced out as CEO two years later. He was brought back in 2015, however, in a effort to re-boot growth -- and tackle online abuse -- amid the social media group's growing global influence.

"I've decided to leave Twitter because I believe the company is ready to move on from its founders," Dorsey said. "My trust in Parag as Twitter's CEO is deep. His work over the past 10 years has been transformational. I'm deeply grateful for his skill, heart, and soul. It's his time to lead."

"I want you to know that this was my decision and I own it," he added in a statement posted on his verified Twitter account.

If I'm a 45yo worth 12Billion, I wouldn't want to hang around doing CEO work when I could be out doing pretty much anything else without all the headaches.

Just look at all the BS he catches from the right and the left (like gasp, eating chick-fil-a during pride month)....no thanks.

A couple gems from incoming Twitter CEO Parag Agrawa:

Quote:
“If they are not gonna make a distinction between muslims and extremists, then why should I distinguish between white people and racists."

“Our role is not to be bound by the First Amendment...focus[ing] less on thinking about free speech, but thinking about how the times have changed."

Last I knew he’s CEO of more than one public company.

This is precisely the reason that you aren't a 45-year-old CEO worth 12 billion dollars.
