Not my cup of tea, but whatever. Sounds like one student contacted Fox News bitching about it.
Quote:
Students' reactions to the painting have been "universally negative," Clegg told Fox News. "I haven't found anybody who's been able to give a serious theological justification for this kind of heretical, blasphemous idolatry."
"Jesus has been depicted as many different races, but Jesus is always depicted as nothing but Jesus, the sinless son of Almighty God," Clegg continued. "There has never, to my knowledge, been any serious, respected Catholic theologian or icon maker who has depicted Jesus Christ as another human being."
Clegg, a former Catholic University College Republicans president, told Fox News: "It's hard to imagine that progressive politics could be fully embraced by university faculty and staff and administrators at the Catholic University of America."
Art is typically supposed t affect a strong reaction. Sometimes that reaction can be negative. It apparently got people, or at least person, talking about it. The artist did her job.

People are certainly talking. I would file this one under the same category as the "Art" that had a crucifix in a jar of urine and the other that painting that had elephant poop smeared on it.
FLoyd was no Saint and he does not deserve praise but his death on that sidewalk at the knee of the corrupt cop was wrong.
I guess in a way that knee on his neck was like the crucifixion ?? Cops are the new Romans?
I just read the painting was stolen. Catholic University has been disingenuous and said they always say the painting as Jesus depicted as a generic black man, but the artist says it is supposed to be .both Floyd and Jesus, dying due to violence and injustice. Some students are upset, saying the administration cares more about being woke than adhering to its Catholic faith.
While George Floyd's death was tragic, he wasn't exactly a saint, let alone 'God'.....
Students at this University said this was "heretical, blasphemous idolatry". I'd agree! It's shameful!
It's for certain that if there was a Jesus, George Floyd looked a lot more like him than Trump, who was also depicted in the same way.
I personally would think any depiction of Jesus directly violates the Second Commandment.
