Remember when they convinced you that gambling was ok because the proceeds would go to education? Well in Florida, they actually do it. Also, based on merit, not skin color. The RIGHT way to do things.
FLORIDA ALREADY HAS FREE COLLEGE TUITION. SURPRISED, AREN’T YOU?
...The state’s Bright Futures scholarships are funded by the Florida Lottery, dating back to 1997. According to the state, the Lottery has contributed more than $5 billion to send over 800,000 students to college since its inception...

The entire education, from kindergarten to college, has already been free.
Besides YouTube, many sources provide free online courses.
This isn't surprising. We've known about this for many years. Though I live in Florida, so I guess that's why.
But conservatives, especially on here, are quite strongly opposed to free college tuition, because it quite severely reeks of all out SOCIALISM! Or even Communism!! Furthermore, why should it be free when conservatives strongly oppose what is taught in colleges, since it's about liberalism?

As does Tennessee. The Southern states have properly handled revenue from lotteries to fund children's futures, as opposed to funding bloated pensions for their own staff.
Yep, I and many other non FL residents know this for years.
State colleges in New York State are also free if the students’ parents/guardians make less than, I guess $150K or something
It isn’t free for everyone though. The requirements for full tuition are pretty stringent. For a while during the economic downturn, no free tuition was available. They brought it back some time ago when the state’s financial situation improved. Before 1997, they had the Florida Academic Scholarship, which was just one (free tuition) scholarship instead of the multiple tiers they have now with a range of awards.
The site says
>FAS: 3.5 weighted GPA or better, at least a 1290 on the SAT, and 100 hours of logged community service. The Academic scholarship covers the FULL cost of a credit hour in the state university system — $211, plus a small stipend.
So they work 100 hours for free and get 1 credit hour (of 16) or roughly a discount of 9.3% worth roughly $211 or $2.11 per hour working for free?

Since lefties dont understand what free means, it means someone will be paying for "free" tuition. Instead of taxpayers paying for it in Florida, its paid for by the lottery.
