Pretty much every governor across this country has used the COVID pandemic to remove power from local municipalities. Mostly to pass restrictions like mask and vaccines mandates and impose restrictions on businesses.
In the case of Florida, deSantis removed the power of local municipalities from acting like petty tyrants.
This is to be welcomed.
Except he removed much of the power when he was elected in 2018, not after the pandemic. The pandemic just allowed him to take away more control. Florida constitution allows for Home Rule, which allows for specific tasks to be taken on by local governments.
Talk is cheap. He is very good at riling up crowds and saying things he thinks his fellow conservatives want to hear, but the reality is that he seems to be a loose cannon. Reminds me of someone else we have the pleasure of not having in office anymore.
DeSantis can be acting POTUS until the 2024 election. Those two sitting imbeciles aren't getting it done and there's nobody and I mean NOBODY( okay Tulsi Gabbard but only her) on the dem side that has any merit to run .
