Evidently they had no intentions of coming back for anything.

DETROIT – The parents of the suspected Oxford High School shooter are in police custody Saturday morning following a manhunt in Detroit, where police say they hid in a commercial building after apparently fleeing town.

James Crumbley and Jennifer Crumbley were arrested by Detroit police early Saturday morning and turned over to the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office, who is investigating the Nov. 30 mass shooting at the high school in Oxford, Michigan. The couple’s son, Ethan Crumbley, 15, is accused of carrying out the shooting, fatally striking four fellow students and injuring six others and a teacher during school hours.

Because they were each charged with 4 counts of involuntary manslaughter and then they fled the city rather than show up for their arraignment.

Is this the new precedent? Parent can be charged when their underage kid commits a crime? Interesting.

Have you been following this story at all? These people are ghouls and directly responsible for what happened.

I sure hope so.
The legal adult that purchased the gun was the father. The mother was complicit. The gun was an early "Christmas present".
Merry Christmas Oxford High School?
Hold the gun owners responsible whether they are parents, siblings, cousins, aunts, I don't care who...if the gun isn't locked away from minors then yes, hold as in this case parents responsible.
Might go a long way also with those sad cases of 5 year olds that shoot dead their 2 year old sibling.
But the bigger problem is that we have in this case low IQ rednecks who can legally purchase a gun, but don't have the IQ to go along with the responsibility. That's the problem there's no answer to.

Make sure you don't hold the perpetrator responsible for his own actions.

Now where is the stake and kindling? We have a witch burning to attend to.

For providing the weapon to their son. The law makes no distinction between giving a gun to a person who then commits a crime or failing to lock up a weapon which is then used by a minor.

Which law is that?

Also, if he had killed people with a car that the parents owned should they be held responsible as well?

To be fair, the parents have been charged, but they have not been tried or convicted. They will get their day in court and will be able to defend their actions and make the case that they are not responsible or complicit in the actions of their son.
