Fortunately he doesn't seem to hold it against me.
You find it puzzling how given 42 more years to build wealth that you have more of it than a 26 year old?

Seriously? That is puzzling to you?

Some people think we should all have the same "wealth" regardless of age or how long we worked or how long we saved.

It truly is a mind stumper.

I do think doc1 was being satirical.

If so, I will happily retract, get my sarcasm/irony meter recalibrated, and work on detecting funny when no emojis are present.

But in my defense, I see so much glaring stupid on this forum daily, it throws off my internal sensing mechanisms.

Possibly but look at the topic of this thread.

From the OP's link...comparison of wealth between millennials and boomers:

No one in the millennial age range has much wealth, in other words, while white boomers remain the wealthiest people in America by leaps and bounds

Then I indeed retract.

Apologies, but tempered with my earlier disclaimer about so much surrounding stupid throwing off my ability to detect and interpret sarcasm/irony.

In today's Bizzarro world what you posted is being written about.
It should be obvious without words but here ya go...boomers are wealthier than millennials and that's a problem.

The authors seem to have a problem identifying why boomers are wealthier than millennials.
Ya think maybe 30-40 year difference of working and saving might play a part ?

https://trustandwill.com/learn/generational-wealth-gap
Did you know that millennials are the least wealthy generation, despite the fact that they currently represent the largest group in the U.S. workforce? Business Insider reports that boomers are 10 times wealthier than millennials. So what gives? We’re about to investigate why the millennial vs. boomer generational wealth gap is so drastic, and what factors have contributed to it.

My own personal opinion? Sometimes I feel like the emojis take away some of the funniness.

I'm kind of like a dry humor, sarcastic guy, so in real life I sometimes have to try real hard to keep a straight face when I say some of the things I say. I hate is when a smirk squeaks its way out, ruining an otherwise perfect comeback. So as much as some people on here need the aid of an emoji, it often seems very counterintuitive to me to put one in the post.

The price we pay for technology, I guess.
