I knew a guy who was cheating on his wife (and they had a little kid) with someone else I knew. He didn't like this older woman gossiping about it. He was a customer of the older woman's business. To get back at the older woman, he made up an issue (a total fabrication) re her business that the police looked into. She was completely cleared, but her business was destroyed. The guy and his wife divorced, and things also went south with the side gal. He moved to another area and remarried and had another child. The three of them took a trip to see a female friend of his from high school and do some skilled work for her (both the guy and the female friend from high school were from wealthy families). What the guy didn't know was that the female friend from high school's ex had just gotten out of prison. The ex showed up in the middle of the night, drunk, and barged into the guest room where the guy, his new wife, and their kid were sound asleep and he murdered all three of them. Karma for the guy.

She probably had good inside knowledge on how to raise a kid badly. I'm afraid I'm having trouble mustering a lot of sympathy for her. She stood on the side that would crucify and innocent man. Plus she must have given her son a real lousy upbringing. Well, I don't know that of course but we do know that upbringing often has a major impact on the behavior of one's kids.

I suspect that's exactly it. Her son had violent mental health problems, and she was recognized the damage young men can do with a weapon, especially an AR15 style thing.
