My understanding is half of people in Ukraine identify to Russia and half to the west. I don't want my country the U.S.A involved in that powder keg for a country that is nowhere near American soil or interests. Besides they are not part of NATO we have no duty to get involved.

Besides America has it's own domestic problems with a portion of it's people and most of the democratic party looking to end the government as it has been and bring in socialism. I'm more concerned with that.

Trump was impeached for structuring a quid pro quo with $391 million in military aid being withheld, pending some dirt on Biden.

Why did Congress approve $391 million in military aid to the Ukraine in the first place?

My theory:

The US military industrial complex, the relationship between the military and defense contractors, requires constant feeding, thus enemies.

Russia invaded Afghanistan in December, 1979.

The US spent $trillions on Afghanistan over 40 years. The US funded a proxy war with Russia in the 80’s. The US paid for military weapons and defense contractor training on how to use those weapons. This attracted jihadists from all over the world which eventually created Al Qaeda.

Why did the US care about Afghanistan?

Once Russia left, the US lost interest and the country once again descended into another round of civil wars, until the US decided to invade and stay for 20 years.

Q: Who benefitted? Certainly not the Afghan people.

A: US defense contractors

The United States, United Kingdom, and Russia pledged to protect the Ukraine’s sovereignty in the 1994 Budapest Referendum in exchange for them giving up its nuclear arsenal. They had 1/3 of the Soviet Union’s nuclear weapons in Ukraine, which they agreed to give up as long as we offered them protection.

Military-industrial complex of the USA is the only winner every time.

The US broke this after organizing an illegal coup in Ukraine and establishing a US-obedient puppet regime.

There is no "tactical group" term in Russian Army. It just doesn't exist. But it does exist in NATO terminology. Ouch, that hurts, isn't it? Western media don't even try now to make a good looking fake - sheeple will eat anything.

There is already a joke circulating in Russian forums:

"Putin calls up Shoygu (minister of defense) and asks: Do we actually have attack plans for Ukraine? Shoygu answers: yes, look here - one from USA, one from UK, one from EU, one from Ukraine..."
That’s more troops than we had in Afghanistan why are they on the border and don’t tell me that 170,000 troops is an exercise. Seems like that money could be better spent in other ways.

Russia doesn't need any troops to invade Ukraine if they really wanted it. Russia destroyed ISIS without its troops. Everything was done by combat aviation and ultra-precise missile strikes. A hundred thousand soldiers are not needed in modern warfare.
This war can only start because of a provocation of Ukraine. For example, they can kill some people inside their country and then announce they were murdered by Russian army. After that, all of the MSM will hysterically cry about "Russian aggression".
There is genocide, where, do you have a source.
