That sounds like that former congressman from Iowa who favored white supremacy. Steve King loved to go on about how some folks threatened 'American culture'. I've heard those dog whistles before.

I think perhaps to counter the narrative that you hear from the right - that murders/gun violence mostly happen in blue states.

Well, violence can happen anywhere. It's in both blue and red states. Look at Missouri and then look at Illinois.

I think of them as places controlled by and under the policies of democrats. Clearly those policies are not a deterrent to violent crime. NYC cleaned up its' act once it elected a republican mayor, Rudi Giuliani. His policy approach cleaned up Times Square & 42nd St. I write this as a lifelong (4+ deccades) independent voter.

Some do, but some people think that "how a city votes" is the reason.

We all know that if you put 576k people over a whole state, barely dense enough to see each other on a daily basis, and then compare it to concentrated towns, where people are damaged to desperation by decades of bad policy from both sides, that the crime rate will be higher.

If you want to make comparisons like the OP, then when you compare US Gun Violence to the rest of the world, what will you conclude? (I know it will be some kind of bat-guana craziness, but "we all know" the truth. It's not rocket science.)

Oddly, the reason is the same for both issues. It's that special interest own both parties. They haven't worked for the people in decades. Anyone thinking it's just the right or left is extremely naive.

Comparing Wyoming to places like Jackson and Birmingham is basically grasping at straws. Jackson and Birmingham are Democratic cities, but they are located in Republican states. Both states are tough on crime states. Sounds like neither political party is good at getting the murder rate down.

Plenty of people in those places basically live angrily, and live/die by the sword. There is a "shoot and ask questions later" mentality involved with some people. Young men joining gangs, selling drugs, learning "use violence to solve all disputes. Anything less is for wimps". "Kill or be killed" is a prevailing attitude in the inner city ghettos.

Here’s what hypocrites like BLM and their supporters should have done and should do. Go do your peaceful protesting in black ‘hoods with the highest homicide rates instead of cities where the highest murder rates aren’t happening.

Gee, what a thought.
