I’m assuming that historian Michael Beschloss was referring to the fact that people have been executed for treason for passing top secret information to foreign adversaries; i.e. the Rosenbergs in 1953.
Ironically, that response was to a question about how to strengthen the unity of our country. Even if one genuinely believes that Trump has committed crimes so serious that he should be executed, there is absolutely no way that anyone can possibly think that doing so would help unify the country.
My personal opinion is indictment, trial and IF found guilty of any Federal felony(s), and IF sentenced to prison time ... the current President at the time, whom every that might be ... could then commute the sentence while leaving the conviction in place. Perhaps stripping Trump of any and all honors and titles like "President".
As far as any crimes committed against the State(s) or Person(s)..... let the cards fall where they may.
