We all know that. As a general rule, democrats like to be around people, and as a general rule, republicans don't like to be around people they don't know. Or even people they do know.

Cities, which tend to be run by democrats because they like being around lots of people, have features like more libraries, more shopping, more job opportunities, more live theater, more live music, more museums, and yes, more crime. Those are all features of big cities.

Rural areas, which tend to be run and populated by republicans because they don't like to be around lots of people, as a general rule, have fewer libraries, less shopping, fewer job opportunities, fewer live theater venues, less live music, fewer museums, and less crime.

There. Are we done now continuously pointing out that large cities are run by democrats in general? One could certainly make the case that our museums and hospitals and libraries are mostly in cities run by democrats.

Other side of the same coin.
Did you read the article?

The article is about record-breaking INCREASE in homicides compare to previous years.

It’s not about the number of homicides in Los Angeles or Chicago in comparison to Boonieville, Nebraska

Possibly, but doesn't excuse the fact that our nation was founded on violence, which has since then become the culture of the nation.

'It's just crazy': 12 major cities hit all-time homicide records'

"It's worse than a war zone around here lately," police official said.

"Of the dozen cities that have already surpassed the grim milestones for killings, five topped records that were set or tied just last year."

Albuquerque, New Mexico
Austin, Texas
Chicago, Illinois
Los Angeles, California
Milwaukee, Wisconsin
New York City
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
Portland, Oregon
Rochester, New York
St. Paul, Minnesota
Toledo, Ohio
Tucson, Arizona

If a city, such as Austin, is growing fast, no wonder more murder comes with record breaking population growth. I wonder how slow growing Republican run cities, such as Tulsa, are doing their murder rate. Interesting how not many people are anxious to move to the Republican cities.

People move to liberal cities for jobs, not quality of life.

People move to suburban cities, which is mostly Republican, for quality of life and to raise a family.

Exactly. A little over two years ago, we moved from the city (suburb of Detroit) , which I work in, 40 miles north to a rural area. Best thing we've ever did.

Tulsa is on a three-year high and a Republican-run city, county, and state. Honestly, I don't see the benefit of using politics as the crux of nearly every argument like Americans do now.

It's clear that crime is rising, it was rising under Republican and Democrat leadership at all levels of government and across the nation. Arguing the politics only gives us a scapegoat or a reason to say "Nothing we can do about it because of the other party". This is a national issue yet we treat it as if only 1 city or a few cities are experiencing problems.

much city violence is drug/turf wars
And if unscrupulous people sell drugs which kill people? Do nothing, and just let them die, I suppose.

So ... I guess your point is, democrats are responsible for murder and the hypothesis is, if republicans ran these city's then overnight everything would be rainbows and unicorns. Is this what you are trying to say?

When we have Congressional politicians and a president who refuse to secure our borders, then illegal drugs pour in, crime and death follow. We have Democrats in control, and they refuse to do anything. So even if a Republican mayor is trying to stop drugs and crime, he has our own federal government working against them.

Today's Democrats will always work against law and order, and they will always be soft on crime. which is why we have a real tough time combating crime.

That is what they are always saying. As soon as you get people responding with Republican cities or data on Republican areas with a constant high crime the thread is abandoned and another is started saying the same thing.

There are 3-4 topics that get regurgitated every couple of days like the greatest hits. And as always, once people make a few points against the argument, another pops up and the current one is left to fade off the first page so the party can continue.

I only say "Republicans" because I think most left-leaning people have already left or recognized the same post and posters and just ignore them. There is really no actual debate in these reposted topics.
