For the same reason. And nothing was paid back and the company filed for bankruptcy.

Solar power in general is not a scam. Any company in any industry can be involved in scams, fraud and corruption. I’m not defending that.
I remember the Obama scam with Solyndra. He at least had the decency to lie and say the company manufactured bands used in bariatric lap band surgery, while nodding in his wife's direction.
Turns out Solyndra was actually a solar company, and nobody would ever confuse her with the word "Sunshine".
Solar isn't a complete joke, but it's kind of the equivalent of Biden appearing on Jeopardy.
So did Clinton, Bush 1, Reagan, Carter, etc, etc...
What exactly is your point? Are you actually surprised that politicians reward their donors? If you don't like it, then you should support campaign finance reform, but then we both know that both the Republicans and Democrats will NEVER allow that don't we...
A solar energy company owned by a Biden megadonor received a $500 million government loan to build a manufacturing facility in India, the Biden administration announced this week, raising questions about whether the company's political clout played any role in the financing decision.
The U.S. International Development Finance Corporation granted the loan to First Solar, which is owned by billionaire Walmart heir Lukas Walton, to build a solar module plant in India. Walton contributed over $300,000 to President Joe Biden's campaign last year, and over $100,000 to the Democratic National Committee, according to campaign finance records....
Why in the absolute **** are US taxpayer dollars being used to fund the building of a manufacturing plant in India, employing Indian workers? Biden isn't just harming US businesses and workers by taxing and regulating them to death-now he's using OUR damn money to fund the manufacturing facilities for foreign workers in their own countries!
Just how much more does it take to convince even the most pathetic Democrat sycophant that the party is doing everything in their power to harm this country and our citizens? Particularly our working class.

But our government cherry picks and awards the big bucks to "friends and family".
