Well do any of you folks know WHY Paul voted against those previous bills ?
Did he not want the money to go to them ? Could there have been other reasons ?
None of the MSM articles I read today mentioned WHY he voted against them in the past.
So I went and hunted down archives to find out for myself.
Not as cut and dry as the MSM makes it out to be...."he wants money now but said no to other states"

So, just out of curiosity, what was his reasoning for voting against aid?
Folks in Kentucky need help. It ain't like they decided to live in an area with predictable natural disasters like south Florida. It's Middle America for crissake.
Disaster can hit any part of the country at any time. It's not like people in KY thought they were taking a risk that a horrific record-breaking tornado would hit in December. Of course we need federal relief. States can't handle it alone, especially those who take repeated hits. As we have seen, as global warming gets worse we're going to see increasing disasters in many places who have been immune up to this point.
That is exactly what I heard from a TV meteorologist this morning. He said it's unusual to have tornadoes in December, and the areas where we see them have been moving east. They don't just happen in Kansas anymore. The tornadoes are moving to places that used to be considered safe from them.

Here you go.

In 2013, after Hurricane Sandy devastated parts of the Northeast, including New York, Paul voted against a bill providing recovery funds. In 2017, he voted against relief sent to Puerto Rico after it was pounded by Hurricane Maria, as well as assistance for Texas after it was hit by Hurricane Harvey. In 2019, he voted against a sweeping bill that earmarked $17.2 billion in disaster relief funding to several federal agencies.
Paul’s explanation? He just doesn’t like spending, and in some cases he said he would have preferred the federal government to take the money from elsewhere, such as foreign aid.
I'm as fiscally conservative as they come but all American states should received the appropriate disaster relief regardless of party color/majority. Some things should not be political.
The people of KY were robbed to fund fed disaster agencies, let them have their money back to rebuild.
