Well do any of you folks know WHY Paul voted against those previous bills ?
Did he not want the money to go to them ? Could there have been other reasons ?

None of the MSM articles I read today mentioned WHY he voted against them in the past.
So I went and hunted down archives to find out for myself.

Not as cut and dry as the MSM makes it out to be...."he wants money now but said no to other states"

Yeah but that doesn't fit the MSM narrative to quote the Joker: "...is part of the plan" or should I said "part of their plan".

Slightly off-topic, the MSM will be triggered again when they see that video of Rand Paul talking about Ilhan Omar on Twitter.

So, just out of curiosity, what was his reasoning for voting against aid?

Folks in Kentucky need help. It ain't like they decided to live in an area with predictable natural disasters like south Florida. It's Middle America for crissake.

As we have seen, as global warming gets worse we're going to see increasing disasters in many places who have been immune up to this point.
That is exactly what I heard from a TV meteorologist this morning. He said it's unusual to have tornadoes in December, and the areas where we see them have been moving east. They don't just happen in Kansas anymore. The tornadoes are moving to places that used to be considered safe from them.

Here you go.

In 2013, after Hurricane Sandy devastated parts of the Northeast, including New York, Paul voted against a bill providing recovery funds. In 2017, he voted against relief sent to Puerto Rico after it was pounded by Hurricane Maria, as well as assistance for Texas after it was hit by Hurricane Harvey. In 2019, he voted against a sweeping bill that earmarked $17.2 billion in disaster relief funding to several federal agencies.

Paul’s explanation? He just doesn’t like spending, and in some cases he said he would have preferred the federal government to take the money from elsewhere, such as foreign aid.

Disaster Relief socializes the financial cost of a disaster.

When the $ require Congress to act, it turns into a porkapalooza. Votes are routinely traded for a piece of the pie totally unrelated to the disaster.

As it relates to the recent tornadoes, Alaskan fishery funding will work its way in.

This was discussed on page 1.

Essentially there is the standard relief aid which is already passed and in effect for 70 years now.
(Link page 1).

Then there have been supplemental bills, which RP has objected to on the basis of where the funding came from.

The initial premise is not very honest by newsweek and that may be sloppy work or intentional, hard to say.

The people of KY were robbed to fund fed disaster agencies, let them have their money back to rebuild.
