I saw this morning that McConnell was saying it would be interesting to see who was involved, and it got me to wondering...

McConnell would very much like to be in control of the GOP again. To do that, he needs to oust Trump, and doing so via his supporters in Congress would be the way to do it.

I dislike McConnell, but he has shown that he can get things he wants if given the proper tools. With these texts, he might now have the means to oust the Trumpers in his party. Now, in order to do so, he might have to do an 'enemy of my enemy is my friend' (the Democrats, who also would like the Trumpers gone). McConnell might have some demands of his own in order to work with the Democrats on this, but if he and other never-Trumpers in his party team up together, they might be able to come up with a way to use these texts to cut out the Trumpers (or at least cull their numbers to a point where the never-Trumpers can regain control of the GOP.)

I wouldn't be surprised if McConnell wouldn't like such a scenario very much. He'd regain control of the GOP, and would come out smelling like a rose.

Trump, McConnell, Biden, Pelosi, Clinton ... this is a fight among retirement home residents. I hear those places have fighting because certain types of old people are very petty and vindictive.

And this is what the US has become. It's a sign of a country's decline.

He was the reason that three conservative supreme court justices were appointed. He made sure Obama didn't have that chance and then changed the rules once Trump was president. Yes, McConnell is for himself and his conservative values but he also doesn't want to see our country fail. Just because he didn't do what you wanted him to do does not make him a wimp. That's why he is in government and you aren't. He understands how it works.

Im not sure why Americans have such a tough time acknowledging the extreme corruption that goes on in our politics? This is the norm in many other countries, they have no problem acknowledging it, why do Americans stick their heads in the sand?

America is the most corrupt nation on the planet...the only difference between us and other countries though, is that its not as out in the open in the US.

McConnell says Jan. 6 committee's findings are 'something the public needs to know'

WASHINGTON — Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., said Thursday that he looks forward to seeing what the House select committee investigating the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol finds in its probe.

“It was a horrendous event and I think what they are seeking to find out is something the public needs to know,” McConnell said in an interview with Spectrum News.

Personally, I would love to see McConnell replaced by someone like Ron Johnson or even Marco Rubio. My only prerequisite is that whoever it is needs to recognize and understand that today's Democrat Party is out to destroy the country.

Establishmentarian fossils who can't see that or don't care about it, like McConnell, need to go. There is no resistance from the Senate Republicans to the daily attacks on the country by Biden and the Democrats. What's the point of voting for the opposition party if they don't even oppose what's going on?
Surprised you'd want Marco Rubio to replace McConnell. Rubio resisted Trump's effort of national emergency for border wall in 2019, and he certified Biden unlike Ted Cruz, Tommy Tuberville and the other 12 Republican Senators. His pragmatism seems more aligned in McConnell's lane than Trump's lane.
