Some of us could see through that "fact checker" BS from day one.

This.

FB is great for keeping up with distant friends and family.
Also great for hobbies and local information like, "Where is the best local auto mechanic?"

Re: hobbies. Lots of great train and plane groups on Facebook with many of us sharing our photos of each. As for friends and family, that too.

But this is not about personally blocking content. The problem is the 'fact checkers' are not, in fact, presenting facts.

The bombshell emerged from Facebook’s court battle with John Stossel, who is suing the company for defamation over its decision to add “fact check” labels to the libertarian pundit’s videos about climate change.

The case number is 5:2021-cv-07385 in the Northern District of California
John Stossel v. Facebook Inc., Science Feedback and Climate Feedback. Hon. Virginia K DeMarchi.

Nonsense. Facebook doesn't present itself as "the arbiter of truth". They are very up-front that they use independent fact checkers. https://www.facebook.com/journalismp...-fact-checking

Well, you don't have to go to Facebook just like if I don't want to see someone misrepresenting facts, I don't have t watch Fox. Your mileage may vary.

Truth is, most people won't admit to being wrong, so fact checkers, real or fake, are mostly preaching to whatever side the facts "back up."

Since when are fact checkers responsible for telling the truth?

Actually that is why you shouldn't be watching CNN/MSNBC as the undercover videos proved they call themselves propaganda and lie tio people all well documented in this very forum.

One thing Id like to really know about FB is the number of users levels they have, there are obvious troll accounts designed to cheer lead news media posts to troll people actually exposing the lies in the media posts. I'm certain they are AI bots scanning and responding to certain words in peoples posts(as well as each other) in an attempt to look real despite blazingly obvious made up names that never have "happy birthday" posts to them. I get lots of their posts taken down for personally attacking me but the same accounts continue to troll, so i think they are unrestricted/do not take strikes when it comes to "safe" content on FB. :think I had some strike a long time ago, Ive figured out how to mostly navigate them due to superior IQ/logic/reasoning skills. These AI BOTs are usually only active minutes after the media bots and wont respond to anything later posted by real people, personally experienced many times, so obvious.
