What is the issue? Seriously? I don't get all of the outrage over what private companies do, particularly with insignificant things like this...
Well, you may be surprised to learn that some of us don't want to live in a crime infested area. Shocking, I know. Two of the best real estate listing sites on the internet have removed a key piece of data that most normal people care about (which you don't, for some reason). It's just another example of wokeness making everyone else's life more difficult.

"Black" seems to be defined as African American, yet the recent immigrants from India are actually darker than most African Americans. I agree this is possible. Companies like to say one thing, but there are frequently ulterior motives for what they do.
When I was house hunting recently, one of my realtors told me I shouldn't only search in an area with top school ratings because that is racist. Funniest thing I ever heard.
With shortage of houses for sale, these websites want to encourage gentrifying certain dodgy neighborhoods. Of course in the really bad black neighborhoods you don't need to see crime stats, just look at photos of the house: it's a dump.
Gentrification will drive up those home prices and push the remaining black residents out. It's a different kind of "equity".
I won't deny you bring up a very good point, imho. Money talks.
They get to kill two birds with one stone. Look like the good guys And help sales.
Unfortunately 'looking like the good guys' comes with its own set of damage as the drive for good points overshadows its recipients real needs.
How would you like to be relocated to a town in a state you have never visited due to a job change and can't get the info you need to make a rational decision about the risks you want to take with you and your family?

The recent crime spree near where I worked happened in a neighborhood where the cheapest home is 400K( thats McMansions here in alabama) and the people robbing folks were all white.
If you still believe on black people steal or it only happens in black neighborhoods, you are just lying to yourself.

Nobody said that or believes that. Weak sauce attempt at deflection. However, you may want to review some FBI crime stats. Certain demographics and neighborhoods populated by said demographic are over represented in criminal activity. Wake up and do the math.

That is simply false. Crime disparity persists even after controlling for income level. Middle class black neighborhoods are far more dangerous than their white counterparts. For example, see tables 5 and 6 here. Homicide rates in black Chicago neighborhoods were 5-15 times higher than in white Chicago neighborhoods with similar income levels.
