I said it before, you have to fear these liberals/progressives. They will go with the direction of the wind and before you know it jaywalkers will be doing time because knee jerk is all they know.
lol
I also found it very amusing that FINALLY this leftist is waking up. SF has been on a downward spiral for a long time - people have to step over crap (literally) in the streets.

And now.... it's the politician to the rescue! Yay!

They must be waking up to the polls. They can't think this is popular with the American people. Only 28% or so supports this bat **** crazy stuff.

Actions speak louder than words. So far her words mean nothing.

De Blasio pledged to cut it back then because of that, NYPD even had that famous moment when they all turned their backs to him.

Some of the cities you listed did exactly what I said they did in my response about Portland.

There is a giant difference between cutting police budgets, and defunding the actual department. None of these cuts had anything to do with the functionality of any of these departments.
NY disbanded their gang and their gun taskforces (as racist).

Softer policing to not have an incident.
Bail reform not just for non-violent offenders, like the mentally ill homeless arsonist out on the streets of NYC as we speak.

If you want to say that defund\reduce didn't have a big impact then sure, I think we can agree there.

However, there were many other changes so if per the thread title we're discussing impacts on crime in general then while budget changes may have done little or nothing, the other practices including non-prosecution remain for now.

She doesn't have the tools or the experience to fix the problem. She's reminecent of our own little Miss Muffet in Phoenix, Kate Gallego, who enjoyed a 44% increase in murder in Phoenix in 2020, then dances around as if she didn't lead under the greatest increase in Murder in Phoenix history. I doubt Breed or any other Democrat Leader has the capability to fix these problems

The SF politicians are the ones that messed it up in the very first place.

Everytime and every city. Look up Cabrini Greens, and Robert Taylor Homes. Democrats built these wonderful places for poor black people to live in. Those Democrats Fing up everything they touch
