3 years probation and 100 hours of community service....for killing a 15 year old....

No repercussions, then the criminals or soon to be criminal just stop caring.

So embarrassed that this was my town. We moved out in July. This was the high school we went to.

The kid he killed was trying to rob him of his stash.

Plenty of much worse in Chicago than this.

Not much in the news story so without knowing the exact details of what was in the court, I am not going to judge, that is be outraged, either way.

That is some statement! See what people accept when they are immersed everyday in murders, crime and violence, 'seen much worse'

Yeah well, since when is it okay to kill someone for stealing your possessions?

Did the law change?

Rittenhosue was being chased and beaten and he was not given such consideration.

Have to stop hiding Juvenile criminal records!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Bet they returned the knife to the stabber.

The law SHOULD be changed so that you can kill to defend property. That is the only way thugs will learn.

We don't know if the 15 year old also stabbed the then 16 year old defendant during the fight. The sentence is still too light imo. Maybe there was a plea deal?

Had this been some guy defending against a different random thug with a gun, a whole different set of people would be cheering.

Does the story make me happy? No

For me it does not rank as high as the kids dying in drive by shootings for example.

the dead guy won his Darwin Award. This does not make the killer a hero.

That kid looks just like the Mexican working in our department with the same dominant/cocky facial expression...I can tell he's going to be a suave ladies man if he isn't already. He will produce lots of offspring that all of us will be paying for due to biology and female attraction.

The guy in our department has a child with a woman he doesn't want to marry because he likes sleeping around too much and she basically is just waiting for him regardless not dating other men. That's how you know you found a male that biologically is dominant.

He's also known to get into bar fights and recently got himself arrested. I love watching these primitive urges play out among our species. It's fascinating. The more poor and less educated a person is, the less their neocortex is developed, the more likely they are to fall back on their base instincts to guide behavior...the laws of the jungle.
