Had to wear a mask, have proof of vaccination to go to a concert in Florida. Just living the best life in Florida.....
We absolutely need to stop testing. Why? Because constant positive tests (which isn't the same as clinically significant illness) are being used to close everything down. All that needs to happen is sick people stay home until they are well again. Unless we want to ruin this entire generation and our economy.

New York's positivity rate isn't support for 'anti-vaxxing' (whatever that is.) Vaxxing is NOT the default.

Don't forget, NYC has a BRUTAL policy that you can't participate in society without injections. The whole rationale for this disgusting, cruel, anti-human, anti-family policy was that the filthy unvaxxed were spreading the virus. So they banned us from public spaces, and fired us from our jobs.

My "told you so" about NYC is bitter, not giddy. As a NY-er, these fascist policies have been harmful to my family. My daughter can't have dinner in NYC with other family members. The pressure on her from society and other family members to get the shots (against medical advice) is intense. We can't attend shows that my step-son performs in. All for what? The virus spreads, vaxxed or not.

For consideration in terms of locking down:

Canada: pop. 38,225,700. To date - 1.88million cases - 30,042 deaths.

Florida: pop. 21,600,000. To date - 3.75 million cases - 62,220 deaths.

So in what universe does one's false equivalency to a temporary 'restriction of movement' equate to permanent loss of life in a state with almost three times the rate of infection and twice the deaths of an entire country with a third more population than Florida?

I guess some Americans place more import on going about their pub-crawling and other "high priority" activities to the extent of acceptance of collateral damage in terms of lives lost - well - as long as it's not their lives - - yet.

Why don’t they just build more hospitals and shut up? Let people take the risk of death who are unvaccinated. We need more hospitals regardless. The population is getting older and fatter and more ignorant so more hospitals are needed.

What venue did you have to show proof of vaccination and WHEN was the concert?

I've asked some FL peeps re restaurant closings and as of yet... no one has heard of a restaurant in Sarasota that had to close due to staff with COVID.

There is no point to randomized testing.

Test people who are sick. Not the general public. It's idiotic and serves no purpose except to keep the FEAR mongers in business.

What are the ages of the deceased?

Does either area mentioned above skew higher in those age ranges?

Asking for a friend. TIA for your answer.

Yeah, we should build all those emergency hospitals and send a ship to NYC!!

Oh wait. Those went largely unused.

I haven't been able to verify either of that poster's claims.

They may be true, but I haven't seen any proof of it.

These covid restrictions are NOT temporary. Covid is never going away. Science has long admitted that. Unless enough take a stand against the measures, they will be permanent.

It is absurd to compare Canada and Florida. And to compare only two things.

You do know that lives are lost from things besides Covid, right? There is a direct relationship to economic devastation and death. It takes time, though, and CNN doesn't have a handy dandy death ticker.
