Former Senator Johnny Isakson R-GA dies at 76 (election, elect, Georgia)

Former Republican Senator Johnny Isakson of Georgia has passed away at 76. He was 9 days shy of his 77th birthday. Isakson was elected to three terms in the Senate and resigned halfway through his last term in December 2019 citing health issues. Isakson was involved in Georgia politics going back to the mid 1970's.
Isakson's resignation is what prompted the appointment of Kelly Loeffler and the Georgia Senate special election last year.
