This is just enacting a few new programs and additional annual spending on entitlements.
Just more of what the government has no authority to do.

the BBB is a complete circlejerk from the liberals
Yes you can fight climate change, it's coming whether you like it or not, it's already impacting many states. The military is preparing for the impact as are many states.

So Manchin is against the Medicare Expansion in West Virginia of all states.

Yes the EIC is important for those living at the bottom, if we can cut taxes on the wealthy we can also help the poor.

Manchin has many constituents who can't afford prescription drugs like Insulin.

You almost made it through a post without claiming 'Fascists"

I don't think I've seen a thread here breaking down the bill. There are definitely some positive things on it, but the sheer size and cost of it is mind boggling. And I don't for a second believe the "it's fully funded" BS they are pushing.

Let's see some of the positives and negatives to this bill.
It is a platter of the finest sirloin smothered in a heap of cow dung, garnished with poison ivy.

Pols in general, Dems as a rule always pick an empathetic name for their bills and argue the name tag in the media, ignoring the devil inthe details..

To add insult to injury the speaker of the house, declares, 'we have to pass it to fund out what is in it"

then we discover she still was not forced by the media to resign her position and that democrats never read or understood the implication of the sweeping legislation they approved... after obama promised during the 2008 prez campaign he would never do such a thing,,,, but warned Hillary would! Obama said he would lose trust and thew ability to lead if he approved healthcare by nuclear option.

BBB is more of the same BS on an exponential scale measured in light years and would mark the end of the US as we know it.

what an interesting distraction technique. perhaps you could start a thread about it.

Defense is clearly enumerated in the Constitution. It's clearly something we can't do individually for ourselves.

As for the "general welfare" clause, a program that benefits one group (parents of small children, of which I have been) versus another (the childless) cannot be considered "general". It's very specific.

If it's for a "program" then its a complete waste of money. All money would be spent on fake administrators and other grifters.

tell us why we would need to expand Medicare for dental, vision, etc.

Does not Medicare C cover these? The individual seniors are free to get this coverage?

and it seems this expansion was already scuttled, except for hearing services

your first sentence is contradictory …

no you can NOT fight climate change...what you can do is fight/mitigate the impacts.... like not building below sea-level…. but climate change is coming whether you like it or not, and NOTHING will change that fact.....

yes the military is preparing for THE IMPACTS

Wrong bill. That was the infrastructure bill which did get passed.
But only $115 million is going to roads.
A good chunk is going to bail out other government agencies/entites that blew their budgets.
Amtrak gets another bailout to pay off loans.

This bill...BBB is a social bill...free daycare, free college, free this and free that.
The bill says all these free stuff is only for 10 years but the CBO said that is false and these programs would not end and that blew the roof off the cost of this BBB bill.

And in all honesty..do you think anyone would just end "free daycare" after 10 years of it being in place ?
We all know government programs never end and always go up in cost.
