Ex NY governor Cuomo will not be charged in nursing home deaths. The Manhattan DA who opened a case said no charges and will not comment.

I guess the political network that fed off of his office and political capital gave him hopefully one last favor. Probably going to be all civil suits at this point. Wonder if DeBlasio had the DA drop them because his policy wasn't much better and wants to run for governor himself.

Ethical or not, if no law was broken, then there is nothing to prosecute. Perhaps the law needs to change, but nursing homes are already over-regulated.

If it was Trump, you really think that Democrat, Trump-hating DA would have done the same?

He's a Democrat. They can do no wrong.

NY is too busy going after Trump for going on 5 years now. They have no time to look at what Cuomo did.

Wouldn't that be nice if they did the same to Trump? Instead they have spent 5 years looking for a law that they can say he broke.

And no one notices that we have "special" people that cannot get in trouble.

After all the politcal favors that have been uncovered along the way that greased the skids for Cuomo you're not the least bit suspicious that this isn't more of the same or even just a decision that they are giving him a pass to keep it from causing any more damage to the party?

Cuomo had major media connections going after his accusers, he had women on a #metoo type organization board helping cover up his harrassment, he had various other supporters trying to harrass and influence accusers....but now the NY DA just gives him a free pass and it's *legit*?

Compare that to the NY DA investigation of Trump where they said up front they were going after all of his business associates, family....everything.

I have no love for either guy but you really think NYC isn't a corrupt mono-party cess pool?

Could also be the Biden administration called in some favors to keep the CDC out of criminal court because Cuomo was claiming all along he was following CDC 'guidance'. The CDC is contributing to administration credibility issues. If the case goes into criminal court that means records, policy memo, internal study subpoenas start flying.

Cuomo being found guilty has the same odds of because Trump being found guilty. Zilch.

Since we're comparing, one should note that Cuomo has been politically removed from office, and that Trump was impeached twice for misdemeanors. They both abused the office.
