The Labour party closed twice as many coal mines under the Wilson Government than Thatcher ever closed.

Mining is now a defunct industry, and other fossil fuels will join it.

As for the UK, it has a significant natural gas fields in the North Sea and also receives gas through a pipeline from Norway, on top of this it has LNG Ports, and receives some LNG from Qatar and indeed some from the US.

The UK does not rely on Russia for it's natural gas, unlike many European countries.

As for prices, Parliament has been calling for a price cap and tax cuts on energy bills, however we will have to wait and see.
