The argument is that Covid is not serious for kids. But isn’t the point that the kids also wear masks to protect their elders? If they don’t get it they won’t pass it on. I don’t necessarily agree with that argument because I am not sure how much masks help. But just saying it’s not serious if kids get it doesn’t help the argument on the other side.
The elders should be vaccinated and boosted anyways, particularly schoolteachers. If schools are run by democrats, why are they not all vaccinated? If they are recently boosted, what are they worried about? Boosted individuals rarely get seriously ill from Covid unless they are above 70 years old or have gone more than 4-6 months without their booster and have serious comorbidities.
Despite rhetoric from conspiracy theorists, the vaccines do work and are generally safe, though I oppose forcing them on the population. I just think the democrats over-react to every little danger because it's what statists do. A boosted person contracting covid gives them additional robust protection against future reinfection a good 9-12 months out. We are going to have to accept this virus is endemic, and not mask up every time there is a rise in cases, because it's never going away, and people are not going to accept masking as a permanant new normal forced on them.
Well, first, every adult has had the opportunity to get vaccinated. That's been the case for a year.
But it's also that the MANY downsides to masks, which are ignored or minimized by the Covid cult, do not outweigh the minimal protection that masking affords.
Masks are uncomfortable. It's important for young children to see faces. The madness NEEDS to end.
My wife is a teacher, she's fully vaccinated so she's not worried about her health. She has a 90 year mother and we have an infant granddaughter that we also see on a regular basis. Our concern is for their health, not ours.
Honestly at this point most of the kids already had covid at some point so there is minimal risk for them but some of them have immune compromised parents or siblings at home so that's another consideration.
The personal choice mask policy is the best policy and only option at this point, but I certainly respect all sides of the discussion.

Studies have started to come out in greater numbers than masks provide negligible benefit to the wearer of the mask. But studies have also started to come out about the long-term emotional and learning issues that forcing kids to wear masks for the last couple of years is doing.
I have yet to hear a single person say if a child wants to wear a mask that they can't. If a child lives in a house and their parents think that putting a mask on the child protects the elders, then let them wear a mask. But don't force that on every single kid in the school.
With the "Well you need to protect everyone else" argument, people would be needing to wear a mask forever anytime they go outside because they "might" come in contact with someone who has COVID or some other virus and then "might" pass that along to someone else they talk to, who in turn "might" take that back to their house and "might" infect someone who is unable to wear a mask. Except for the true Covidans, most people understand that this weird game of Six-Degrees that they are trying to play just doesn't make sense.

Elders and people in general have had two freaking years to figure out how to protect themselves - one year of which includes vaccines being available (efficacy of which is another issue/debate).
Masking anyone who feels perfectly fine is dystopian. You could've argued it as a short term solution, but humans are social creatures....your face is a huge part of socializing! The mask cultists are now focusing their lunatic crusade by bullying children into it because an increasing number of us adults aren't taking their crap anymore.
