Seems odd for NASCAR to ignore/****-off their longtime base.

I guess they are desperate, but this can't go well for them, can it?

Why pander to the 0.001% of the population?

The long time base is not growing the business. Either find new customers or continue to sink into irrelevance.

Like every other big business in America they are cowards. they are scared the nasty vicious prog left will come after them. NASCAR survives on sponsorship. If the PROG left gets after their advertisers, the golden good will die because all of corporate America are cowards or they are party to the left.

Americans will comply. Americans will get on their knees and flat do as they are told. Americans WILL grasp the hands of their PROG Overlords and kiss the ring.

period.

It's what NASCAR has been trying to do since about 2005 without much luck. IMO, their bigger problems are a series championship process that takes a Huntsville rocket scientist to explain and a move away from tracks like North Wilkesboro and Rockingham in favor of corporate cookie cutter ovals.

Agreed. There is also that looming issue of manufacturing moving cars to electric which is tuff for a "stock car" series. It's not something that is an immediate concern but I do assume NASCAR does not like the language coming out of automakers.

Although it could be cool to see a bunch of cars lit up like Tron cars zooming around Daytona.

I'll watch some Formula E racing when my DVR picks it up and it can actually be pretty entertaining, though you'll lose something in longer races where fuel strategy has long been part of the game when you go E.

So they're going to trade a slow sinking descent to extinction

for a speed of light rush to extinction?

NASCAR fans have to be the only Motorsport fans allergic to vaginas.
Motorcross and INDY fans would put the hot ones in ads and take pics with them.

Nascar is going to hell and they just picked up a little speed.

It's almost like they want it to fail.

I never really liked this saying, but Bill France, Sr is probably rolling over in his grave.
