Come after our guns. Just like the British.. No government should have the right to disarm their people. If they do , it is to rule them as a dictatorship.

Go back to 1953 when the CIA orchestrated a Coup against the then shah who at the time intended to open its oil market instead of limiting it to British Petroleum who controlled production.

A puppet shah was installed who enabled the West to dictate. The connected and elite became wealthier while the majority lived in desperate poverty. The people eventually got sick and tired of this and the drums of Revolution began to beat. The wealthy and Shah fled, most bound for the US.

To put this into perspective, imagine a super power taking control of the means of production in the US and installing their puppet.

As far as religion goes, like all Abrahamic religions, Islam has many denominations and branches within. Sunni and Shi are the two most dominate. The Sunni barely tolerate the Shi. Iran is not an Arab country, do not share language or traditions. Most are Shi Muslim. Saudi and the other Arab countries are Sunni and relately despise Shi, thus Iran.

As religious extremists go, US ally, Saudi Arabia is #1. Ultra Conservative Iran is far more liberal/ tolerant than the Saudis.

You might also want to check out Cuba, pre Revolution, whereby US corporations owned and controlled most of its agriculture production. While the connected elite lived very well, that was not the case for most Cubans at the time.
while most of what you said is true... the Shah was not a US Puppet, but he was a big supporter of western culture.

the Shah did a lot for women's rights, education, and position, and when he was ousted, it set back women 100 years in Iran

There in lies the key.

If the Colonists had lost in 1776 History, being written by the victors would have cast them as anything but Patriots.

Today History is being written (and rewritten) by the Left and they are telling us that 1/6 was an insurrection but most of us know what it really was, a group of easily swayed fools that got out of hand and trespassed through the Capital.
