Is she up for re-election herself? If so why doesn’t she just retire then. It seems dumb to run, win, and then when your side inevitably loses the majority decide I’m outta here.
Representatives only have 2-year terms. Every seat is up for election every even year.

Pelosi says when the gop retakes the House in the 2022 midterm elections, she’ll finally quit. She doesn’t want to be a has-been speaker as a great grandmother .
Someone will have to throw a bucket of water on her to finally get rid of her. In the absence of that, it would be unlikely she would willingly give up power- it pays too well and has made her family rich.
