I agree with Naicha. I'm white, married a white woman, and my kids both married whites. But I would be just as happy if they had married people of color. In fact, I am hopeful that someday our country will all be "blended", so there will be no more need to even mention race. What could possibly be bad about that?
Again, you and Naicha are focusing on color rather than culture. Which is easier to overlook, color or culture. If a black and white couple come together, neither of them are asked to change their color. If two different cultures come together, something will need to change. If people "will all be blended" one day, everyone will have lost their identity.

Then there will be only one identity: Humanity
That sounds awesome. But it'll take at least 1,000 years for that to happen.

the only reason I am mentioning color is because of the thread topic specifically calling out color.
I believe in an American culture. I believe Americans should respect that, including immigrants.
The two often get conflated.
You can have a gang culture black and an upper crust snobby rich black. They won't get along just by the color of their skin. Heck we read about brown Sunnis and Shiites killing each other all the time.
We have whites at each other just depending on whose sign they have on their lawn.

Humanity has been an identity since, well........humanity. Now if you wish for everyone to be clones of one another, I can't think of anything more boring.

Boring maybe. But in a really long time scale, I think it's inevitable.
I think one of the best hopes for the USA is to chop it up into ethnostates.
Humans develop the most trustful, tight societies when they are not multiracial.
The idea that an ethnostate would be 100% of whatever race is unrealistic and unnecessary. But the race in charge of the ethnostate should be guiding the direction of that nation.......this dynamic should be written in to the constitution.
But the question remains: What will be done to interracial couples, mixed people, and multi-racial Hispanics in this hypothetical "ethnostate?"

You may want to look up the definition of 'ethnostate' if you believe it only relates to "color".

Ones identity is defined by their actions.
