Just a young 19 year old girl working what is probably her first job. Gone... But now she is gone, because the criminals are in charge in NYC now. Remember when democrats used to claim they were fighting for the working class?

These kinds of crimes seem to be a daily occurrence in New York now. Disguising. This is what happens when you pander to the criminal element. The criminals become more brazen, and more innocent people die as a result. Shame what a dump NYC has become.

If the person was caught, which crime would be the least penalized?

A) Robbery and murder

B) Vaccination status

C) Strolling through the state capital with a red Trump hat

The only spin Newsweek is putting on this is "gun violence".

Two years ago they would have implied it was due to anti-immigrant rhetoric. Sigh.

The people that have to deal with this for real on the daily aren't falling for this BS, it's just sad fluff for suburban coastal types to reinforce their worldviews.

I think this is the 2nd BK/major fast food death by "customer" in the last 2 weeks in NY. Or at least somewhere in the NE. The other one was a Black girl killed through the drive-through window.

Is killing people still a crime in New York?

There was one in MD 2 weeks ago but it looks like it was customers.

Had another drive-thru shooting (west coast, maybe Taco Bell?) involving a fake $20. They shot the guy thru the drive thru...stopped, got out and went in and finished him off.

LA is all about the poor criminals, you know the "real" victims that society let down.

It is, but they got rid of their gun and gangs crime task forces and more softly police other areas in order to help minorities....and more incidents like this are what you're seeing.

Let's see if they even catch this guy, or the 2 guys in LA.

Then we can see if they get easy bail and can count how many kill again while out on bail.

Killing someone will probably not be prosecuted, because according to Alvin Bragg new standards - no was was 'injured'.

Most fast food places that remain open into the wee hours limit service to drive- thru for employee safety. This Burger King was an exception.

The killer pistol whipped a customer and punched the female manager before engaging in armed robbery.

The images are unlikely to lead to an arrest. With some luck outside area cameras may have captured more, including car tags, if the killer fled to a vehicle and it was not a stolen vehicle.

Armed robberies happen everywhere in the US. Gas stations, Waffle Houses and fast food places throughout the country tend to have more than their fair share of overnight armed robberies and violence. They rarely have armed guards on the premises.

Reportedly, the 19 year old had pleaded with her mother to allow her to quit the job because she felt unsafe going home. Reportedly, her mother insisted she continue working. The cashier had asked to be transferred to the day shift. Given the acute shortage of employees at most entry level jobs, I don’t know why anyone would choose to take an overnight shift exposed to the general public, beyond shift differential.

East Harlem, aka Spanish Harlem, is known for its Puerto Rican and Caribbean cultures and restaurants and an abundance of fast food joints. As crime goes there are better and worse areas.

Businesses routinely limit the amount of cash in a drawer. Speculation on my part, the shooter was pissed his robbery yielded only $100. We’ll never know if the restaurant gave the cashier access to more cash, if the robber would have been less inclined to shoot.
