Or any more than have have to choose between being labeled like Wallace or King. Or more to the point, Biden had no right to tell us that we have to choose which one.
As noted by the House Republicans, Biden "once bragged about being praised" by Wallace.
The House Republicans tweeted out a Detroit Free Press article from 1987 in which sates Biden, then Senator for Delaware, reminded people that Wallace called him an "outstanding young politician."
The Philadelphia Inquirer reported in September 1988 that Mr. Biden, while campaigning in Alabama that year, "talked of his sympathy for the South, bragged of an award he had received from George Wallace in 1973 and said 'we (Delawareans) were on the South's side in the Civil War.'"
That is a fair choice....but WHY would President Biden even ask the question??
George Wallace was a Democrat. No way, would I chose Democrat George Wallace over MLK. So were Bull Conner and Jeff Davis.
WAS a Democrat. During the late 1960s, George Wallace was basically disowned by the Democrats. He ran for President as part of the American Independent Party, a far-right segregationist party.

hahahahahaha
Wallace ran as a democrat in 1972 and almost won their nomination.
He lost the dems primary in 1972 by 2.3% points in the popular vote. He was shot and didn't campaign the last 1/4 of the primary. That isn't being disowned, it's the opposite.
Biden was also a Democrat segregationist/racist. He fought against busing to integrate public schools as recently as 1977 (the year of his "my kids are going to grow up in a racial jungle" comment).
Bingo.
Now I support a modified 3 Strikes & You're Out, but I also recall it was nicknamed Biden's law, as he gathered enough votes in HIS party to steer it through.
NYPD Chief Bratton would be proud, as would Rudy Giuliani of that move by JB.
It was a metaphorical statement as with the Lincoln and Jefferson Davis statement. There are people who believe the United States is at a critical juncture in its history. We have come this way before during the eve of the Civil War and on the eve of the Civil Rights Movement. I think the same side that won those battles will win this one too.
