That is a fair choice....but WHY would President Biden even ask the question??

George Wallace was a Democrat. No way, would I chose Democrat George Wallace over MLK. So were Bull Conner and Jeff Davis.

It is well known that most democrats slept through history class. Or they were shoveled through the education system with very little actual education taking place. We should be mindful and remember that what happened to CNN is the same thing that happened to our education system...

I doubt it. Today's "woke commies" are not calling for equality. They are calling for wealth redistribution based on race, treating some groups differently based on skin color, and a whole lot of other stuff that MLK spoke out against. Today's Marxist lefties are calling for the opposite of what MLK marched for... MLK didn't want his children to be judged based on the color of their skin, but the content of their character, which is the exact opposite of what the left is demanding today.

Nothing has changed with the liberal crowd, as they have always judged people based on skin color. Malcom X was well aware of this, which is why he told black folks not to trust the white liberal crowd. He know the white liberals only wanted to use black folks and their struggles to further their own goals, often political in nature. Any benefit acquired by the black community would be merely coincidental. Today, Joe Biden is one of those white liberals who seeks to use the past struggles of the African American community to his advantage. He is a disgrace and most people know it by now.

Nope, it's not a fair choice. No one has to choose between George Wallace or MLK.
This is a logical fallacy of the sort known as "false dilemma", "false binary choice", "false dichotomy".

There are many people who are nothing like George Wallace, but they're not like MLK either.
We pretty much all fall somewhere in between.

How about this one: "Do you want to be on the side of Voltaire or Rosseau"? Answer quickly.

President Biden is the one that raised the issue, not me. It is his quote.

As for your question...not a liberal arts graduate, not a European.....who were those guys....A bunch of DEAD Europeans. I don't do DEAD Europeans.

Europe....my parents passed through there as slaves.

No thanks.

Neither one were anything to be proud of, Wallace was a racist, MLK plagiarized his doctorate and all his speeches and cheated on his wife.

Neither one of those people were on the extreme end of the paradigm. MLK is often mistaken for a Republican and George Wallace eventually came around to denounce segregation and racism in general. He reached out to civil rights leaders and asked for forgiveness for his past segregationist stance. He was no worse a character than Robert Byrd, another former democrat segregationist/racist.

There were probably more people on the extreme ends of the spectrum compared to those in between Wallace and MLK.

MLK was instrumental in pushing the civil rights movement forward. Could someone else do it? Perhaps, but MLK accomplished a lot and got the job done. That's what history remembers most of all. And his assassination is also part of his legacy and gets more attention than anything else. How people accomplish all they did and all the details in between are usually left out, since most people only want or have time for the condensed version.

MLK at one point was the moral concious of the United States regardless of one's party, political and moral position. Majority of Americans agreed with him. It was only a small core of vocal whites that were into segregation and made it a cultural and political practice that lasted nearly for a 100 years. Waht I also notice about segregatation movement to end it was not secular, but also religious. Black church, mainline white protestants, Roman catholics and even evangelical churches like Billy Graham took a stand to end segregatation. Billy Graham even bailed mlk out of jail. But segregation also did damage to blacks economically. Some blacks has really great schools and were made to close down. Black church was the economic center of the community, with the death segregatation. No more investing in your church, but invest in citibank or jp Morgan chase.

George Washington owned slaves. Thomas Jefferson owned slaves and made babies with them. The American revolution was fought to preserve slavery after England banned it.

The left doesn’t realize that everyone in American history had blood on their hands and skeletons in their closet, that America’s woke liberal schools don’t dare cover, as they bash the confederate. Which was also Democrat.
