Looking back in time when did the relationship of the US and Russia start to get bad and got wore every year to where they are today?

Note I started to hear anti Russia when Trump got in and got worse every year.

Did the relationship of the US and Russia started to get bad when Trump got in and got worse over the years to when Biden got in than really got worse? Or was the relationship of the US and Russia started to get worse way before Trump got in?

If Trump was in power now well things may be different but it seems the relationship have been getting worse every year. There was not a day when Trump was in power I did not hear anti Russia.

I’m wondering if this relationship getting worse every year pushed Russia over the edge to now where they are enemies now.

I know in the late 80s, 90s and 2000s the US and Russia where not friends but they where not enemies. Now they are enemies and the cold war is here all over again.

The Nato thing with former Soviet or eastern block nations was not helpful. But the bigger issues is that post Soviet Russia is an oligarchy where a few powerful people seized resources and benefitted and everyone else saw little improvement in life. The head of rhe oligarchy only has strength and force to continue to hold power. As he slips,he has to up his strongman game.

One big factor is the "great awokening", with American and other Western elite media going woke from around 2012, and taking the rest of the center/left establishment with them. To newly woke eyes, Putin came to be seen as the ultimate boogeyman.

Well when the USSR broke up Russia gone down hill very fast with crime, oligarchy and mafia running every thing and destroying Russia. Well Putin started cleaning all this up and people hate Putin for doing this.

But like some say Putin is not liberal like the west and this has problems.

My fear if the west keeps this up than Putin may feel the need to take over more countries.

The Trump thing did not help. The American media could not come to terms that Trump got voted in power and so had to run with the story Russia government is going on social media putting ads for Trump and posting things about Trump to get people to vote for Trump. Well the liberals started to say they need to censorship so Russia does not do this again. In other words censorship of Trump and showing liberal stuff for the next election.

There was also much talk that Trump was working with Russia and the CIA and FBI had information on Trump. But they gone to court and had no information despite saying they have information on Trump and in no time Trump will be arrested. Yet they gone to court and had no information.

Also I remember some thing about Trump having information about Hillary Clinton or the Clinton foundation and they may get arrested.

It also looks like Hillary Clinton was working with the Russian oligarchy to take down Putin.

Nothing. Nothing will happen.
Right now, media has cohesion based on active military action in Ukraine. When this will be done and over, that cohesion will disappear. Media will start looking for something new to distract lay minds with. Due to its ECONOMICAL and FINANCIAL repercussions, US/Russia relationships will slowly but steadily return back to business as usual. It's TOO MUCH MONEY TO LOSE to keep going. And money is all they care about.

Putin didn't like the idea that any of the former Eastern bloc countries started to become NATO members. This goes back to the 1990s.

It reached a tipping point for him when even his neighbor Ukraine started siding with the United States and the west. That's what led to the current situation.

Since you are answering your own question and putting out a Russian narrative, it seems likely you are yet another! Keyboard Comrade sent to spread Russian lies and propaganda.

Russians can never be trusted. They have been a thorn in the side of civilized nations for two hundred years. Putin is just the latest is a series of murderous monsters that nation has produced and let loose on innocent people.
