If SB906 passes and you have a Child in a California School you will be required to report to the school not only if you have guns, but how you store and access them.
Require parents or guardians upon registering a student for public or charter school to disclose whether any firearms are in the student’s home and provide details on ownership, storage, and accessibility of those firearms to the student.
Require schools to immediately report a credible violent threat to law enforcement authorities and school leaders, and in consultation with law enforcement, must search a student’s on-campus property for possible firearms.
Beyond the obvious issues, wouldn't requiring a school to report a credible violent threat fall under the "Duh..." category?
I wonder what would happen if you reported to the school that you had 10 firearms, your child has been practicing with the weapons every day since they were 5 and could shoot the eyes out of a fly at 100 yards.
Tell us how many guns your daddy has or we are going to send men with guns to ransack your house and if we find any of daddy’s guns we are going to use our gunmen with guns to confiscate his guns and then we are going to lock him up in a place with guard towers…oh, and the guards in the towers have LOTS of guns.

"The debate over gun control can be summed up thusly: Those of us who don't like guns in the hands of our non-costumed brethren, will vote to ensure men with guns, under the guise of the "law," will come and take the property that is rightfully yours, killing you should you resist our will sufficiently. This is what we call "violence by-proxy" and makes the voter for violence no less culpable in the extortion and death that will ensue.
As Stefan Molyneux correctly observed; if a person claims they are non-violent and are for “gun control” they are not truly anti-gun nor are they non-violent people - because the reality is that guns and violence will be needed to disarm innocent law abiding people.
This is because those people who claim they are anti-gun and anti-violence, who claim to support “gun control,” will need the credible threat of police violence and the police’s guns to take away other people’s guns should they resist the attempt to further centralize their monopoly on violence.
So those who claim to be anti-gun and anti-violence are really very pro-gun and very pro-violence. They ultimately believe that only government officials (which are of course portrayed as reliable, honest, moral, and virtuous) should be allowed to have guns. This obviously flies in the face of reality as the 20th century has proven once and for all.
It’s important to note that those who advocate this type of centralized monopoly of violence do so as cowards, because it’s not their lives on the line, rather they advocate others using violence on their behalf in order to force their misguided views on innocent people who wish to do nothing other than protect themselves and other innocents.
There is no such thing as "gun control," there is only centralizing gun ownership in the hands of a small, political class and the forces they control which, as recent history has proven is a murderous nightmare for the peace loving, disenfranchised, and disarmed citizenry."--Ron Danielowski

sadly this will go over many lemmings heads because in their theoretical unicorn world, if one political party had absolutely authority and power, the world would be perfect
Sooo what happens if the parents ignore the question or report they do not have guns? Will the state kick the kid out of school? Considering what the Left is teaching kids these days forcing the parents to homeschool might be the best thing for the kid.
What is crazy is that the Dems can ask about guns in the hands of law abiding citizens but they wouldn't dare require a Hispanic student to tell if any of his family members are illegal aliens, have guns and ties to MS13.
Another solution looking for a problem. Typical bureaucrats.
Typical politicians, all talking about how they made schools safer and *did something* .
