The more people who legally vote the more likely democrats win.
The gop Has an older diminishing base

The democrats have a younger diverse base and as the GOP voters die off the democrats will have an edge.

The republicans are trying to deny legal voters franchise to counter unfavorable demographics

One and mine was started a few days before this one.

Was just giving the OP a clue that it might be deleted.

Thank you.

Where was all of this energy when they were touting all of the minority votes for Obama- both times? Record numbers of new AA voters. Not a peep about how oppressed anyone was to vote. The dems are a joke.

Since the Democrats can't move forward with the filibuster, they should consider a compromise bill that could get bi-partisan support.

To win some Republican support, agree to voter Id.

Benefit for Republicans would be requirement of Voter Id for all 50 US
Benefit for Democrats would be new federal laws that would stop practice of gerrymandering and make Election Day a federal holiday or at least half a day with holiday start at 12 noon (if a federal holiday as a half day is possible) for all employees in the private or public sector.

Leave choice of absentee ballots/mail-in-voting to the states.

Such compromises would have win-win(s) for both sides even though they both have to give up something that they wouldn't want to give up otherwise.

But I believe the bill would be very popular with voters, from both sides.

If Democrats are in favor of “legal voting†then surely they’re not against voter ID.

Illegal aliens and criminals. The Democrats desperately want their vote.

Have you ever wondered why ballot instructions in sanctuary jurisdictions are written in Spanish?

I think its most accurate name is "The Criminals' Voting Rights Act".
