They know they are going to lose BIGLY, this fall. So, the want to enact rules that legalize "cheating" so that they don't lose power, or at least not by much.
Please tell me who is being denied the right to vote?
It’s all propaganda, to make it look like Republicans want to block voting rights. It’s political theater and many Democrats are buying into it which means it’s working.

It doesn't really legalize cheating though, it just makes it impossible to determine if certain kinds of cheating have taken place. The fact that those sorts of cheating are the sorts they are most often accused of taking part in is purely a coincidence I'm sure!
Even if the dems never cheat in an election, trust in our election integrity will forever be lost with this bill. It could just be that they want this to pass so that republicans will look like perpetual whiners when they lose, but my tin foil hat(and their apparent desperation) says their motivations are more ambitious than that.
I'm curious to know how many citizens really think this is THE MOST IMPORTANT ISSUE of the day? (I can think of a few others). There is a lot of time and money being allocated to this issue. How much of this are we willing to pay for?

Congress doesn't care what's important to the citizens, this bill is important to the politicians. I think it's important too. Important that the bill does not pass. No reason why New York and California should be telling Montana and West Virginia what their voting rules have to be.
Democrats know they cannot win on policy, so they introduce BS bills that move the goalposts in their favor.
