Doesn’t necessarily have to be a foreign culture changing it. It’s all gonna change whether you like it or not. Especially with the internet.
It can also be controlled whether you like it or not. I'm sure you're just salivating over any change that alters the demographics and culture of our country.

This is a write off of a debt that Wall Street and American bankers created that they are paying in other ways since they are under full U.S. jurisdiction and American economic force. The U.S. bailed Wall Street out and the bankers of their own making but crickets from you. The national debt is 29.5 trillion and growing by the second. The average national debt is $238,534 per taxpayer today (Nobody will ever pay that not even you, so sit down) . Should We cut the fat and kick out 70% of people out the Union? or your issue is ONLY with Puerto Ricans? Stick with the economy side and don't hide your racism behind it

Puerto Rico has a GDP of 111 billion a year in a limited territorial status. By forgiving (write off) 80% of the debt by the mess Wall Street created by their bad loans and fraud , it frees them to generate more money that Wall Streets and banks benefits anyway since P.R. can only deal with them under their rule and the federal government takes a cut since our federal government works for them.

If you have a problem with U.S. tax laws and the economy of bankruptcy and rules that MANY in the U.S. have used including the Former President then stick to it with pros and cons and make and force 1 standard for all. Leave your racism and ignorance out.

You don't speak for the U.S. and let alone know your own history. The U.S. invaded Puerto Rico in 1898 and made them U.S. Citizens in 1917 so they would fight and die in every U.S. war and battle since 1917 (over 1 century for you) More Puerto Ricans live in the mainland U.S. than the island itself. For you to say the U.S. never wanted them is a LIE. 10 Pinnochios. I would give you more but I only have 10 fingers.

Calling U.S. Citizens which many are veterans parasites shows your racism and bad bigotry and then you try to hide with economics. Just get help and don't write dumb racist posts. Stick with the law and economics which everything is control by the U.S. government not P.R.

I don't know what is your personal issue with Puerto Ricans but you need help fast.
You know damn well Puerto Rico is a parasite. This write-off that you speak of is being written off by devaluing the dollars in my wallet and taking money out of my paycheck. It is not my fault that the people of the country dont pay their debts and people elect a government that wants to play Santa Clause. The execuses you make are just a deflection on the true problem. If im a racist for calling out a problem of the territory, and the people and posting a link to the article so be it.

Also Puerto Ricans can lose any type of citizenship with an act of Congress, and honestly its possible as America is not necessarily fond of the island.

It's politics.

PR had huge problems ongoing long before the hurricane hit.

Then suddenly all the problems were because of Trump and he was racist and all his followers were racists blah blah blah.

I don't agree with their comments about PR, they are fellow US citizens, but a lot of the rancor is a backlash to the political attacks after the hurricane.

The partisan bickering intensified once the billions in congressionally approved aid was held up. I get some of the reasoning behind it but the more pressing issue was that American citizens needed it, and should’ve gotten it without delay.

Puerto Rico is the first state or territory to declare bankruptcy. The deal takes 80% or $33B of the debt and puts them onto American Taxpayers. Even with this, Puerto Rico is claiming they are having issues to repay the debt.

I personally believe we need to drop them and give them independence. America never wanted PR from the beginning, and the cultures clash. The people and the nation have been nothing but a parasite to the American public.
She is a NY judge appomted by bill clinton, so no surprise!

LOL... I was googling the relationship between Blackrock and the World Bank and the mention of Puerto Rico came up as Blackrock has heavy investment there. Good to know the US taxpayer will be bailing out the largest holder of assets in the world. Basically this is a large corporate bailout. Lenders like Blackrock no longer have to assume any risk their loans will go bad... they know the central banks have their backs.

What paycheck? You are on welfare. You don't pay taxes. Maybe We should kick you out but the problem is nobody would want you. Racist dumb people are not in demand.

If you want to separate the U.S. and 340 million people by culture, race and language. We would have at least 15 New Countries and that's low balling.

Where are these posters coming from? like they never took a car ride from coast to coast to learn who are the people in this country. The cultures, the food, the languages. Our public education is in a bad state.
you referencing the bible and calling the US the 'tower of babel'?

English is the primary language. Official or not, it is reality.

People living in France speak many different languages, however, French is the official language. Not difficult to see how that works.

PR needs to clean up its act and stop being a burden to its people and the US taxpayers.

Academics dive down every rabbit hole and blur reality in their pursuit of minutia and irrelevance.

Left Can't even tell a male from a female or which bathroom to use.

I remember the threads here. It started immediately with comparisons of how the federal trucks are there immediately in Texas and Florida and not there on day 2 in Puerto Rico (hint: it's an island) because of raaaaaaacism.

The ages it took to work on the electrical grid because it was already a corrupt, crumbling piece of junk? Yep, raaaaaaaaacism.
