It's not the kids, it's the parents.

...or lack thereof.

First year teacher in the Houston area.
Teaching is not a good fit for her. Perhaps serving coffee in a University Faculty lounge would be better. Or she could go for Professional Kid Hater and Ranter

Kids today are spoiled. Try teaching them. They think they already know it all.

Parents expect teachers to be the parents and the babysitters now. Most parents in the U.S shouldn't breed. They are SUCKY parents.. If you can't raise your kids, you shouldn't have had any to begin with.

And what would posses anyone to be a teach now anyways? You would have to be an idiot to choose that for a profession in this present day America

I wonder how much mentoring and support she has received as a new teacher? So often there is a dump and run mentality where new teachers are thrown in and have to sink or swim. Classroom management takes time to learn and master and very often this critical skill seems to need the most support but receives it the least.

The teacher is wrong and should be removed but the district needs to look at where they failed and how the student behavior contributed to this. Don't assume their a bunch of angels just because of their age or what their parents said...

In a junior high school?
Yeah. I can see what she is talking about. I was once a 12 year old boy, and I had the pleasure of watching my son and his friends when he was 12.
We were awful then and so was he. 12 year old boys are little more than animals. Farting and belching is viewed as hilarious, as are the worst sort of sexual jokes, racism, violence, and whatever else you can think of. There is no level of intellectual curiosity in a 12 year old boy.

It takes a special sort of teacher to handle 12 year old monsters that are boys as they juxtaposition themselves along with the bitchy princesses who will become women. In fact, some 12 year old girls do look like women and that does not help.
God Bless all junior high school teachers.
The teacher should take a break and maybe come back to teach some other age group. See if that helps.

News reports always show the few intelligent reflective students trying to get an education, not the innumerable hellions and rebel-rousers who are only in school to cause mayhem and incite other students to do the same. It's no wonder parents are glad to see their backsides when they leave in the morning.
