Let's say the Republicans candidate is not a Trumpster...like Niki Haley (who says "Trump has no future role in the GOP"):

https://www.cnn.com/2021/02/12/polit...gop/index.html

note: If the RNC dumps Trump, former Trump voters will still vote Republican imho. What are they going to do... vote for a radical leftist liberal Dem? Or, stay home and let the radical left continue their march towards socialism? No way...nearly all of them will vote Pub.
Note - the article was back in 2021 right after 1/6 when many Republicans were trying to distance themselves so as not to affect their own political careers. Whether Trump runs or not - many Dems will vote Republicans because we are sick of the wokeness of our own party.

Well it finally reached minus 2 degrees in my area. Almost ripe for the saying when h3ll freezes over. So it would be fair to follow your recommendation.
As someone advised earlier Haley may well be the Trojan horse... She could very well be playing both sides..

So even if they brought a perfectly reasonable candidate in 2024, it's very unlikely many will jump over to vote for them - because they have lost the trust of any Centrist or Independent at this point. Even if the candidate is a reasoned moderate, it's clear that the rest of the party will continue to be devoted to the goal of instituting one-party rule and dumping our Constitution into the trash.
You sound like a Tea Party refugee. Rand Paul would be your guy then. You don't have to look back upon anything he's said, or listen to anything he says today, or in the future. All you have to do is look at his voting record. He's one of the strictest Constitutionalists we have today in Washington DC.

Nike Haley is an impressive candidate and has demonstrated herself well on the world stage, far better than fearless leader or some of his protege's
For pure theatre it would be swell to have 2024 be MTG vs AOC.

Neither represents a majority of likely voters regardless of party. But imagine the debates.

Republicans have a deep bench. Just off the top.

DeSantis

Haley

Cruz

Cotton

Pence

Pompeo

Cristie

There are more Independents than either Republicans or Democrats.

Examples.

"Right now the party is rife with lunatic concepts that are disturbing to watch."

Name Them.

I could list all the "lunatic concepts" the left is pushing but wouldn't be able to get all of them in 1 posting!

Freedom of speech? yeah, like the Democrat party respects freedom of speech in the party. Ask Joe Lieberman,Geraldine Ferraro, Tulsi Gabbard, Manchin and Sinema to name a few and asked them what happens to people that goes against the party. How many generals Obama fired for a different opinion on foreign policy? Freedom of speech? thanks for the laugh.
So your boys didn't win, waaaa you can't always have your way. Name calling is all this current GOP really knows how to do because none of them can express an opinion outside the party line without this childish behavior (as you demonstrate).

How many people did Trump fire, talk about a revolving door administration. One day they are the greatest individual the next week their total scum and not worthy to serve so spare me. And always he was the export on everything because a Foreign Service official with 20 years experience knows nothing about International Diplomacy...

Its mainly an ego position.
