So, of the 192,405,448 people, 1626 VAERS claims met the case definition for myocarditis. So, even assuming that all 1626 cases were actually caused by the vaccine - that's a .000845% of having myocarditis as a side-effect (if my math is correct).
What was the point for Pfizer to change the name/label of the vaccine? Why not just leave it alone?
Marketing/advertising.
You can't legally market a drug until it is approved and "Comirnaty" fits on a pamphlet a lot easier than "the PFizer/BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine".
Also - for a normal vaccine, FDA approval would make it subject to the VICP program, rather than the CICP program, regarding any injury claims. That doesn't apply to the COVID vaccines due to an exception made by the previous administration.
