The only problem is Lincoln never debated Frederick Douglass he debated Sen. Stephen A. Douglas. It shows how illiterate some people are when it comes to historical facts. You would think he would do little research filing a bill with the state legislator. It has to be more involved then posting a tweet.

Wren Williams, a Republican delegate from Patrick, pre-filed a bill that noted, in part, that high school students would be required to learn about “the first debate between Abraham Lincoln and Frederick Douglass,” the Richmond Times-Dispatch reported.

High school students today are required to know about this ??? I find that hard to believe, since the K-12 education system regularly graduates people who can barely read or do math at an elementary school level.

Well for one thing, you're talking about government, which doesn't exactly attract the best and brightest. Aside from that, how much can you really expect when the highest office of the land is occupied by the likes of Joe Biden? And he has managed to ride it out in government for the vast majority of his adult life. So what can you really ask for of those working in lesser positions in government?

Would Joe Biden even have any idea what you are talking about in this thread if you tried to break it down for him?

Forgetting a name happens all the time, however, stating that an island is going to capsize because of over population is just stupid....

Making a mistake in a tweet, during a hearing, or during an interview is one thing. Writing a bill that could become law is way beyond a "Mistake". Shouldn't even be in office.
