A lot of mask-wearers must know the facts, being obese, especially morbidly-obese,
makes covid much more dangerous for themselves.

Why sure they do. All those mask wearers all over the planet are fully aware of the risks of airborne pathogens and have been for decades in those countries with especially dense population areas. Albeit, with obesity being nowhere near as prevalent anywhere else.

Anyone who has travelled extensively overseas has witnessed many people wearing masks when out in public while suffering from a common cold or flu VIRUS. Of course they might have a higher degree of concern for their fellows. The predominant feature of this thread seems to be the lack of same.

The other consideration would be; they're, on average, probably smarter as well.

Hilarious. Anyone still wearing a cloth mask after the past 2 years of data is more easily brainwashed, not smarter.

Right...when they actually know they're sick. Not "well I'm gonna assume I'm sick 24/7!" and a silly holier-than-thou attitude. You do you, though.

What about this is so difficult for some of you to understand?
Because we have read the conclusions from a dozen randomized controlled trials, which studied whether masks worked to prevent infection and transmission of aerosol respiratory virus. These studies found that wearing masks was not effective in preventing "airborne droplets from infecting others."

And today, the CDC is finally admitting that these cloth masks they have forced so many people to wear, are not very effective at all. They already knew this in 2020, because the WHO mask study was released in Oct 2019.. But they told the frightened population to wear cloth masks anyway.

Why? Because if 330 million people were told nothing, not even cheap masks, were going to prevent infection, the people would have panicked.

Even now, when the vaccines and boosters are obviously not preventing either infection or transmission, the only reason why some people are not in a full blown panic, is because they are told by the CDC that masks work to prevent airborne droplets from infecting them or others.

As ineffective as they are, masks still provide a physical barrier. Basically, I cannot suddenly sneeze or cough phlegm or mucus into your face. But keep you social distance from people and they cannot sneeze or cough on you.

Something that might help. Have you ever worn a Halloween mask, and noticed how much water vapor accumulates inside them? If your cloth or paper mask was actually preventing the water vapor droplets you breath out, from escaping the mask, then your mask would be saturated with many times more water vapor droplets than a Halloween mask. You'd need to periodically empty out the pool of water collecting inside your cloth or paper mask. Since you are not noticing water vapor dripping down your chip, then your mask is not preventing water droplets from exiting your mask.

Two incidents are convincing to me that masks do work. In one infected hair stylists did not spread the virus to others in a salon in which everyone wore masks. In the other, an infected man spread the virus on a bus which he rode while not wearing a mask. He then purchased a mask and transferred to another bus and did not spread it.
Or you could just read the W.H.O. study from 2019, where they conducted numerous actual controlled trials, and not rely on anecdotes.

They wear them to prevent bacteria from infecting patients. Bacteria are 0.2 to 2.0 microns in size, COVID is 0.06 - 0.125 microns.

Bacteria: Size, Shape and Arrangement

Another myth propagated by the anti-maskers is the following nonsense:

“COVID 19 virus particle size is 125 nanometers (0.125 microns); the range is 0.06 microns to .14 microns, and the N95 mask filters down to 0.3 microns. So, N95 masks block few, if any, virus particles.”

This is easily debunked.

1) COVID 19 viruses are always attached to a much larger carrier (droplets) which are at least 1.0 microns in diameter.

2) Virus laden droplets are excited by Brownian motion - this vibratory movement makes them much more likely to be trapped by the N95/KN95 mask.

3) N95 and KN95 masks use electrostatic attraction to further improve the capability of the mask to trap virus laden droplets. This is why you should not wash and reuse N95 masks.

Oh right, now you're deflecting to just those masks that are perhaps singularly "cloth" while this thread title says nothing whatsoever about any particular mask material.

You also know for sure that ALL cloth masks are identical in make-up and manufacture.

What's hillarious is you taking yourself seriously while insulting all others wearing any face covering as being "brainwashed".

The whole world is apparently wrong? You're discounting all conventional wisdom as some deep state conspiracy to pattern your wee minds (as if anyone in actual authority actually shives-a-git about controlling your wee mind) to achieve what exactly?

Oh yeah, you'd rather "do you" and discount all relevant conventional wisdom to characterize those wearing masks as being wrong, to achieve what exactly; perpetuation of a simple contrarian attitude?

Just what is the motivation behind all of this arguing about the efficacy of wearing masks of any type when all agencies across the board in every corner of the world are advising to wear them when intermingling during an ongoing pandemic?
