I wish i could say you are wrong, but I know better.

It's not being sympathetic to anyone.
It's knowing truth from propaganda and the US politicians and media are pumping out nothing but propaganda and many are falling for it.
The first casualty of war is truth. Create an enemy and lie to the people so that it will be easy to justify an invasion.
This has happened TIME AND TIME AGAIN over the last 50 years that I'm surprised that this tactic is still working on the US public.

They also do not die to protect freedom, or democracy, or human rights.
The US doesn't give a **** about any of that, as we can so from foreign AND domestic policy.

So we need to consider who in the US government or those who bribe the US government benefits most from this situation and how it will most likely play out. I assume it cant play out with the US directly getting involved in a conflict since Russia will wipe the floor with the US (then we would have to look at what would happen next which way more big money interests would be harmed than helped).

Follow the money.

Who profits from war? The MICC.

1. To sell fear, which sells weapons.
2. Further demonizing of Russia, which makes US propaganda easier to believe.

You're right. In a sense, this entire thread is based on a strawman. "Why should we defend Ukraine?" Who said anything about defending Ukraine?

A full-scale land, air and sea assault on Georgia - that's what you call a "peace enforcement operation?"

George Orwell would be proud.

Yeah, a threat to US hegemony.

Not an existential threat, like the media and our politicians want us to believe.

People just eat it up. Who are members of the "axis of evil" these days? Russian, North Korea, Iran? How many countries have those countries invaded compared to the US military?

What a nonsense!
There were no a full-scale land, air and sea assault on Georgia. Looks like you trust your media wholeheartedly without suspecting that they are fake news and downright lie.
This war conflict lasted only a few hours. And all that The only thing Russia did was drive the Georgian troops out of the Ossetian and Abkhasian territories they occupied. But since South Ossetia and Abkhazia are considered Georgian territories, the West accused Russia of invading Georgia, ignoring the fact that the Abkhazians asked for help from Russia themselves. But anyways Russia is was and always will be bad in the western media.

George Orwell is proud when the US calls freedom fighters terrorists, but terrorists are labelled freedom fighters.
